Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector/CWI to join our team and help maintain the highest standards of quality in our steel fabrication processes. In this vital role, you will inspect materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with detailed specifications and industry regulations. Your meticulous attention to detail will help us consistently exceed customer expectations while supporting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve problems, enhance quality processes, and contribute to our reputation for precision and performance. Key Responsibilities: Conduct daily inspections of structural steel components in an AISC-certified fabrication facility. Inspect fabricated steel in our AISC-certified facility. Verify compliance with drawings, specs, and D1.1/D1.5 standards. Document non-conformances and coordinate resolutions. Support AISC audits and drive continuous improvement. Identify and document non-conformances during the inspection process. Verify that all fabricated materials meet the specifications outlined in shop drawings. Perform both in-process and final inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and proper part placement. Participate in annual AISC QC Audits and contribute to organization-wide quality goals. Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel layout and fabrication. AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required. Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication and construction drawings. Strong knowledge of structural steel standards; familiarity with D1.1/D1.5 codes preferred. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills. Strong problem-solving ability and collaborative mindset. Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes. This position requires the use of PPE including steel toe work boots, hard hat, gloves, high visibility vest, and protective eyeglasses.
