Market of Choice is now hiring full-time Cooks to join our Central Kitchen to join our professional, state of the art, modern production facility! This position starts at $16.10/hour up to $18.75/hour depending on experience with growth opportunity up to $19.75/hour. DESCRIPTION The Market Central Kitchen supplies all of our store locations with items made from scratch, including soups, salads, marinades, sauces, spice kits, charcuterie, and more! Applicants should be able to follow standard recipes and procedures, as well as safety food programs. DUTIES We are looking for a friendly team player to join our crew! This is a unique opportunity to be part of a tight-knit team atmosphere that is creative, fast-paced and fueled by our passion for quality and our commitment to exceptional food. As a Cook, you will report to the Production Manager and Operations Manager and some of your responsibilities will include: Consulting with the Production Manager on a daily basis to ensure that timing of orders and production schedules are coordinated Production of sandwich, salad, entree, catering trays and soup for the hot and cold cases at Market of Choice stores Timely delivery of assigned orders and other orders as needed Assisting the Chef/Catering Manager with ordering and maintaining inventory of fresh, frozen, and sundry products for use in the department Training new kitchen workers and assistants Prepare deep fried, baked, stove top foods, and salads Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors and employees Maintain Health and Safety sanitation requirements Have a current Food Handler Card QUALIFICATIONS Applicants should be available any shift including weekends. The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years of age and have the following: A minimum of 1 year food prep experience At least 1 year heavy food production experience A valid Oregon Drivers License (with a clean driving record) Market of Choice is an Oregon grown, local company with opportunities for growth. We're in need of a part time employee to learn about indoor plants and how to care for them at many of Tulsa's office buildings. In addition, we are hiring for Christmas decorators for the month of November. At Tropical Plant Design, we will be decorating indoor Christmas trees at many of Tulsa's offices, Hotels, Hospitals and office building lobbies. The work begins the first week of November and ends around December 1st. We come back to work at the end of December and take everything down and store until the second week of January. The work is weekdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm. We're looking to hire part time or full time during the month of November. Anyone who has an eye for decorating and a joyful attitude is welcome. Please don't think this is not for you. We will hire up to eight decorators. It's not demanding work, we want those who are responsible and are self starters and a willingness to work fast. The only requirement for a few of the workers is to be able to climb a 6'-10' ladder for decorating 12' lobby trees. All of the lifting and setting up of trees are preset.
