Need a caregiver for Tuesday and Thursdays 10am-10pm and/or Saturday and Sundays 10am-10pm

Immediate need is for someone to cover 2 to 3 hours Monday thru Thursday 7am to 9 or 10am with possible availability for more hours to replace/complement existing team. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to support a loving adult male with severe cerebral palsy living in East Meadow, Long Island. He weighs 90 lbs is non-verbal but communicative and is developmentally similar to a 1-year-old, in diapers, and unable to walk (he crawls). He is loving and loves watching TV. He attends the Cerebral Palsey Center nearby 5 days a week from 9 am to 2 pm. He is transported by van provided by the Center. He lives in a private home with his 80-year-old Mother, who has been his lifelong caregiver. A Hoyer lift is available in the home to move him from his wheelchair to the mats on the floor and to his bed. Care giving for him is basically from 7am to 9am and 2pm till 9pm Monday through Friday and 7am to 9pm weekends. Anticipated one day off weekly could be schedule or flexible. Private room in nice home. Duties would also include some housekeeping. Having a drivers license is a major plus but not required. This position is also available for those able to provide this care while still living in their own home and for less than 6 days a week as well as for hourly employees to supplement or replace existing caregivers. Background check and references may be required.
