Seeking Mandarin speaker for caregiving / caregiver (very good gig) (palo alto)
Hello! We are seeking a caregiver for 6hrs per day, 5 days per week, at a rate that will be comfortably higher than what an agency would pay. I am familiar with what the agencies pay, and what the issues are there for workers. This is a much better gig, and we are pro worker. We are seeking the worker who is seeking us. MANDATORY (these must *all* be true of you, to be eligible): - trustworthy, high integrity - CNA licensed - native Mandarin language speaker (Cantonese is considered, but Mandarin is preferred) - available to work 10:30am-4:30pm - able to drive your own safe, clean car, legally and insured, for errands and shopping - health insurance of your own - no phones during work hours, but laptop/tablet will likely be OK (we may even be able to provide one) For the right person, this is an exceptionally good and potentially easy gig, with a lot of perks. It is primarily a babysitting and driving job, so it is potentially great for a student or someone working toward a degree or in professional training, while also having caregiving experience and a CNA license. The CNA license is mandatory, no exceptions. This is not an under-the-table job. Our mom has Alzheimer's but does *not* need help bathing, toileting, dressing or eating her own meals. She *does* need help with operating the TV (she cannot figure out new remotes), preparing some of her meals, being safe when coming and going, using appliances, etc., modest cleaning. The primary part of the job is driving and accompanying her while shopping, or at the library, with some normal other caregiving duties, so that she is able to get around, be active, get home safely (and not leave home unsafely). It is really a babysitting job, but involved will be having some meals with her, for which (as a general rule) you will not have to pay. A lot of it will be sitting and accompanying. Please write via the CL system, and tell something about yourself if this sounds like it could be a good fit. If you work in the caregiving industry and are not a fit (perhaps because of language requirement), please feel welcome to get in touch if you know someone else who would fit. If you connect us to the right caregiver, we would want to show our appreciation with an appropriate reward if that person proves to be right for the job. Thank you!
