Westcoast Trucking Inc. is looking for a Junior Diesel Mechanic/Shop Assistant. Position Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Mid-Level (minimum 1-2 years experience DIESEL MECHANIC) Pay Rate: $18 - $27/hour based on experience 350,000 sq. ft. Warehousing with three yards on same street. We have our own Chassis', Trailers, Peterbilt's, Volvo Trucks, Nikola, Yard Goats. Key Responsibilities: • Assist senior diesel mechanics with truck, trailer and forklift diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs • Perform basic servicing (oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, etc.) • Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and parts • Help move trucks and parts in and out of the workshop (under supervision) • Follow all health and safety procedures and assist in maintaining compliance • Learn and grow on the job with hands-on experience and mentorship • May be required to record time, materials, and parts used for each task • Run diagnostic tests and interpret results. •Inspect vehicle systems including suspensions, steering, and exhausts. • Replace or repair transmissions, brakes, and engines. • Conduct field visits for emergency breakdowns. • Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
