I am seeking a compassionate and dependable live-in personal assistant/CNA for my father, who is in his 90s.
This position offers a $500 weekly salary, along with a private bedroom and bath in a clean, safe, and luxurious apartment on the Riverwalk. Utilities, cable, and internet are included.
It is ideal for an individual seeking a stable, long-term living arrangement.
The ideal candidate is self-reliant, enjoys a peaceful home environment, and can keep themselves entertained while ensuring care for the elderly gentleman.
Responsibilities include full charge of housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, errands, managing and transportation to doctor appointments, ordering and picking up prescriptions, making phone calls, shopping for and sending gifts, wardrobe purchases, managing cable and internet services, and other tasks as needed. Future responsibilities will include assistance with bathing and dressing. CPR is required.
Computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems with the internet, cable, and printer would be a plus.
Start Date: November 15, 2025. (Target Date)
Reliable transportation, a driver's license, and insurance are required.
A drug test, background check, and bond are required.
One small pet accepted (a $300 apartment deposit is required).
No smoking, no drugs.
Schedule (flexible): Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Outside of working hours, you are not expected to perform any duties. However, this position is for a candidate who desires to live in seven days a week with only occasional weekend or overnight trips away.
In an emergency, the candidate will be on call until a family member arrives.
Currently, my father is independent but will require more assistance over time. He is mentally alert, bathes and dresses himself, cooks meals, keeps himself entertained, and enjoys going to Texas Roadhouse once a week.
He enjoys the companionship of having someone around the house and the security of someone in the house at night. Easy conversation while going about their day is the general flow.
He is a former businessman who is intelligent, thoughtful, and responsible. He is relatively quiet and maintains a tight schedule; you can always expect what to expect, depending on the time of day.
His current personal assistant has been with him for over a year and is moving closer to family who recently moved to Florida.
We hope to find someone who feels this would be their long-term home. The location offers plenty of opportunities for walking and shopping, and the endless recreational activities make it a very comfortable lifestyle for the right person.
