Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Production Worker: • Adheres to all safety guidelines in the production area and in handling of materials in the factory. • Starts assigned assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift. • Makes sure that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials. • Cleans equipment. • Inspects assembled products to ensure they are up to quality standards. • Keeps production floor clean. • Reports issues or problems with production equipment to immediate supervisor. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Strong attention to detail. • Is able to identify problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment. • Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues. • Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines. • Works efficiently and manages time effectively. • Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift (up to and including 50 lbs.) for long periods of time. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED is preferred. • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or warehouse setting is recommended. Work Environment: • Standard 40-hour workweek applies. (Overtime as required by management) • Working hours will be spent in the factory or warehouse, (Minimal heating and cooling.) • Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking and lifting (up to and including 30 lbs.) is required on a daily basis. • Safety gear, such as goggles, gloves, and sleeves must be worn on a daily basis. Job Summary: Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is currently seeking skilled Machine Operators to join our EMV department at our Bolingbrook manufacturing facility. We have two shifts open; 2nd shift operates Monday through Friday from 3pm-11pm, and 3rd shift operates Monday through Friday 11pm-7am with regular opportunities for overtime. The Inserting Machine Operator IV will prepare, supply and operation production machines in the Personalization Department within the High Security Area. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager. First shift runs from 5:30 am - 1:30 pm and third shift runs 11 pm -7 am Monday through Friday. Job Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair all card personalization and fulfillment equipment. Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions in electronic equipment, perform tests, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper functioning. Fabricate replacement parts when necessary. Perform preventative maintenance on all card personalization / fulfillment equipment and support equipment. Work with machine operator to identify and resolve issues with setup and job files. Work with IT to identify and resolve machine communications related issues. Implement programs to increase OEE. Utilize KPI's to improve equipment uptime and decrease downtime. Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of repairs, tests and inspections, and document processes for future reference. Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of process controls.
