Groundskeeper Wilshire Country Club Info: Wilshire Country Club, built in 1919, is a private 18 hole golf course located in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. Job Description: Wilshire Country Club is looking for a groundskeeper to join our team. Groundskeepers, under the supervision of the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendent, perform a variety of tasks daily, these tasks are, but are not limited to: raking sand traps, walk-mowing, ride-mowing, trimming, planting, digging, raking, and irrigation repair. Educational Requirements: -High school diploma/GED Experience Requirements: -Prior experience working on a golf course (preferred but not required) - Professional landscaping experience (preferred) Job Requirements: -Operates: mowers, various vehicles and powered equipment such as string trimmers, backpack blowers, and etc. for daily tasks -Uses hand tools such as: shovels, rakes, pruning saws, axes, edgers, and hedge clippers for daily tasks -Waters turf, trees and landscaping using portable hoses and sprinklers -Performs other necessary tasks either alone or in small teams Special Requirements: -Must have a valid driver’s license -Must be able to pass a background screening -Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally 75 pounds -Duties are performed throughout the year in all types of weather. The day typically begins at 6:00 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. Our crew works most holidays. Job Summary: Eastern Drayage is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves handling materials, operating forklifts, assisting with rigging and slinging, and ensuring safe loading and unloading operations. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in various weather conditions and following all safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Must have had experience operating lifts at a capacity of 35,000 lbs. Emphasis on experience with loading and unloading steel pipe. Handle tools and lashing materials as necessary. Place or remove dunnage, including materials resting on transport surfaces or stacks of pipe. Stay clear of all suspended loads during loading and discharge operations. Hook and unhook lifting gear as required. Understand and apply the fundamentals of rigging and slinging. Operate forklifts safely and efficiently. Dismantle and store rigging/slinging equipment after use. Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure worker and cargo safety. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines. Climb up or down containers to access materials. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 3 yrs specifically with experience in bulk commodities and out of gauge materials. Prior experience in a yard or warehouse environment preferred. Knowledge of rigging and slinging fundamentals. Ability to operate forklifts (certification preferred or willingness to obtain). Strong awareness of workplace safety procedures. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Physical ability to climb, lift, and perform manual labor as needed.
