Proven understanding of the equipment's electrical system, engine and all of its working parts. Candidates who have the skill or knowledge of use of machinery or tools. Has own tools is great but we can supply as well out of our shop If you have a passion for working on trucks, trouble-shooting mechanical problems, or love to use your tools, this could be the job for you! Responsibilities • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties • Performs standard vehicle maintenance • Performs standard component inspections and repairs • Performs preventive maintenance • Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable • Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required • Replaces defective components as instructed • Performs facility maintenance duties • Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available • Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) • Performs other support duties as required to support operations. Diagnose and repair diesel, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Work with operations staff to ensure equipment reliability. Mentor junior mechanics and be the go-to expert in the shop. 5–10 years of professional mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment or truck repair. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Prior experience mentoring or coordinating with other mechanics is preferred. Commitment to safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship. Prefer Class A CDL but not required. Year-round stability with no seasonal gaps.
