FUSION 360 CNC PROGRAMMER & AUTOMATION TECH www.abdiecasting.com We are a manufacturing company located in Hercules, CA. We have been in business for 78+ years and look forward to the next 78! Come and add your valuable skill set to our CNC machining and automation systems and processes. You will develop, implement, and revise existing and new manufacturing solutions. You will explore new ways to optimize and/or automate current systems, focusing on process control, efficiencies in staffing and quality compliance. You will work closely with quality assurance, production and engineering to drive efficiency and excellence into every process under your direct control. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Responsibilities: • Expertise with Fusion 360 CAM to create and optimize CNC programs for machining operations, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining. • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to develop machining processes and tool paths that meet quality and production requirements. • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement. • Set up CNC machines and tooling according to program specifications, including selection of cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices. • Conduct tooling and material evaluations to optimize machining processes and achieve desired outcomes. • Perform test runs and troubleshoot programming and machining issues to ensure the quality and accuracy of finished components. • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. • Document and maintain CNC programs, tooling configurations, and machining parameters for future reference. • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. • Provide training and support to machine operators and other personnel as needed to facilitate effective CNC machining operations. • Take guidance and direction from Robotics-Automation to integrate systems and production machining activities. Requirements: • AA degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and/or Machining Technology plus 2+ years direct experience in a machine shop environment with heavy programming or, GED and 4+ years direct experience in a machine shop with heavy programming. • Strong understanding of machining principles, including cutting tool selection, speeds and feeds and machining strategies. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Experience with castings strongly preferred. • Ability to read, interpret technical drawings, GD&T symbols, tech specs and design models. • Proficiency in use of indicators and gauges. • Ability to document and communicate technical details to all staff levels. • Ability to follow, improve and establish best practice SOP’s. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and trouble-shooting skills. • Flexibility (pivot/adjust/adapt). • Ability to make adjustments in cutting paths or settings on the fly, whilst maintaining quality. • Solidworks experience a plus. • G-zero programming knowledge a plus. • Team player with strong math and communication skills. • Positive and professional attitude with impeccable attendance.
