Job Description: A Diesel Mechanic working for Quantum Towing and Recovery is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the diesel engines and other mechanical systems of our tow trucks. This includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, replacing worn parts, and ensuring that all vehicles are operating safely and efficiently. You'll work on complex systems such as hydraulics, braking systems, and electrical components specific to towing operations. Key Responsibilities: Diagnosis and Repair: Identify issues with diesel engines using diagnostic tools and test equipment. Troubleshoot malfunctions related to engine performance, electrical systems, hydraulics, and transmission. Disassemble and reassemble engine components to repair or replace damaged parts. Perform major repairs like overhauling engines, replacing pistons, and adjusting valves. Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct routine maintenance checks on tow trucks, including oil changes, fluid level checks, and battery inspections. Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, and other critical safety systems for wear and tear. Perform pre-shift inspections to ensure tow trucks are roadworthy.
