Front of House Manager – Job Description Position Summary The Front of House (FOH) Manager ensures that every guest at Laili Restaurant receives attentive service and a memorable dining experience. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fine-dining environment. Beyond guest-facing duties, FOH staff play an essential role in maintaining the restaurant’s operations, supporting both the kitchen and management team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Guest Service & Dining Room Operations Greet, seat, and welcome guests warmly, creating a positive first impression. Manage reservations and guest flow using OpenTable. Accurately take and process orders using the POS system. Present menus, explain specials, and make thoughtful recommendations. Deliver food and beverages promptly with correct presentation. Anticipate guest needs, handle requests, and resolve complaints professionally Assist in large party service, private events, and buy-outs. Maintain a clean, well-organized dining room, patio, and service stations. Monitor and maintain restrooms throughout service for cleanliness and supplies. Operational Support Count and maintain the cash drawer, ensuring accuracy at the beginning and end of shifts. Process DoorDash and other third-party delivery orders with accuracy and timeliness. Run occasional errands (e.g., to local stores/markets) to support the kitchen and bar. Support kitchen operations by communicating guest needs and order changes clearly. Assist with opening and closing duties, including checklists and side work. Team & Administrative Responsibilities Work collaboratively with managers, servers, hosts, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Assist in scheduling kitchen and FOH shifts, ensuring coverage for service and events. Participate in interviewing and onboarding new FOH hires when needed. Provide feedback to management on staff performance, training needs, and workflow improvements. Uphold all health, sanitation, and safety standards, as well as responsible alcohol service requirements. Assist with marketing, generating social media posts, reels etc. Responding to reviews and ensuring guests satisfaction is at its highest standard. Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. (bus tubs, trays, supplies, etc.). Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements. Ability to move quickly between indoor and outdoor dining areas. Respond promptly and courtesy to any request Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process payment Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise Be ready and willing to assist busboy and resetting tables Thank the guest for their visit and invite to return Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the management staff Must be available nights and weekends.
