Golden Diner is an intimate and welcoming Asian diner located in Manhattan’s Two Bridges. Unlike your average diner, our restaurant has achieved national acclaim and recognition from the James Beard Foundation, Food & Wine Magazine, The New Yorker, Vogue, and Resy, to name a few, and was recently listed as one of New York Time's 100 Best Restaurants in New York City. We are looking for the right person to lead a talented and hard-working team as our Chef de Cuisine. Responsibilities: - Lead the BOH team and manage BOH scheduling - Manage inventory and ordering processes to ensure an adequate level of product and supplies - Hire, onboard, and train new team members and oversee the team to keep standards high - Create new seasonal dishes and specials, while maintaining quality of current menu - Work closely with FOH manager to make sure service is smooth and guest experience is great - Monitor and optimize food and labor costs - Keep sanitation and cleanliness levels high, following protocol (train staff and maintain Level A for all DOH inspections) Requirements: - Minimum 5 years at a fast-paced NYC restaurant - Experience with overseeing a team of 10+ - Detail-oriented - Ability to juggle multitude of tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis - Knows how to delegate and independently manage time - Must be proactive, not reactive What We Provide - Opportunity to grow and advance your career with a great team - Relatively consistent schedule - Base salary of $80,000 – $90,000 (depending on experience) - Paid time off - Health insurance with company contribution (Medical/Dental/Vision/Life) - Commuter benefits - Dining discounts Please note this job description is not 100% comprehensive of what you may be doing on the job, but it should give you a good idea of what to expect.
