About the Position Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times Qualifications 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus Why Join Our Team? We are looking to hire an experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Eugene. This is a full-time, year-round position with steady work in a largely indoor heated shop. We are looking for a skilled professional who takes pride in their trade and wants to be valued for their expertise.Lead the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet (diesel trucks, heavy equipment, light-duty vehicles, and trailers). Diagnose and repair diesel, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Work with operations staff to ensure equipment reliability. Mentor junior mechanics and be the go-to expert in the shop. 5–10 years of professional mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment or truck repair. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Prior experience mentoring or coordinating with other mechanics is preferred.
