Automotive Tech/Mechanic (Lomita)

Small and established busy automotive repair shop seeking a service writer. This position will provide general customer service tasks such as answering the phone and assisting walk in customers. This position is responsible for pricing repair jobs and selling the recommended repair to the customer. The service writer will manage the flow of work for the shop and schedule repair and service jobs. Responsible for inventory management and ordering of parts by working with a variety of vendors. Automotive experience a plus but not required. Skills and qualifications required: - Computer skills (typing, email, navigating basic software applications) - High level of customer service - Ability to multi-task and problem solve - Valid WA drivers license - Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Davis Automotive is a Monday-Friday shop 8:00AM-5:00PM. The shop is closed major holidays. Currently, are seeking a qualified Millwright / Maintenance Technician to work collaboratively with our Burlington sawmill in Mt. Vernon, Washington. About the Position Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times Qualifications 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus Why Join Our Team?
