SIMPLY ELEGANT GENERAL CONTRACTING Job Title: Millwork Shop Foreman Location: Greenpoint, Brooklyn Job Type: Full-Time We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Millwork Shop Foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of a custom woodwork shop, ensuring quality and timely completion while managing workflow and maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities: - Supervise shop personnel and ensure adherence to project plans and specifications. - Manage the entire production process, from purchasing materials to final product, ensuring timely completion. - Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and design plans. - Organize and delegate tasks efficiently. - Manage multiple jobs simultaneously. - Maintain a safe and organized work environment while meeting project deadlines. - Collaborate with project manager and clients to ensure client satisfaction. - Perform quality checks and troubleshoot installation issues as they arise. - Travel to job sites for measurements ensuring accuracy of shop drawings and for client meetings. Requirements: - Proven experience in a supervisory role within a millwork or woodworking environment. - Strong ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and technical drawings - Expertise in installing custom millwork with a focus on precision and craftsmanship. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. - Knowledge of tools, techniques, and materials specific to high end millwork installation. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel within the NYC area. -NYC SST and OSHA 10/30 certified. -Social security number.

We specialize in luxury residential and select retail projects, delivering cabinetry, wall paneling, and custom furniture with uncompromising quality. Our projects range from New York penthouses to flagship retail builds for top brands. We are seeking a Shop Foreman with 10+ years of experience in architectural millwork or high-end fabrication to oversee daily production on our shop floor. This role is pivotal in connecting our design/engineering team with our skilled makers, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -Lead and manage shop staff, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring progress. -Oversee production schedules, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget requirements. -Maintain strict quality control standards on all fabricated components before delivery/installation. -Troubleshoot technical and workflow issues, collaborating with engineering and PM teams. -Ensure best fabricating practices, machine maintenance, and set safety guidelines. -Coordinate with operating manager, project managers, drafters, and CNC operators to align shop output with design intent. -Train, mentor, and evaluate junior staff to strengthen the team’s skills and efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS -10+ years of experience in architectural millwork, custom fabrication, or related field. -Proven leadership experience in a shop foreman, lead fabricator, or production manager role. -Deep knowledge of woodworking machinery, CNC equipment, and modern shop workflows. -Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings and architectural plans (Rhino/AutoCAD familiarity a plus). -Exceptional attention to detail, craftsmanship, and finish quality. -Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. -Knowledge or attitude for Project Management Software, specifically INNERGY.
