Automotive & Truck Mechanic 📍 Location: Alsip, IL About Us: A-Auto & Truck Center Inc. is a family-owned, full-service auto and heavy-duty truck repair shop serving Alsip and the surrounding communities. We specialize in light-duty cars, medium-duty fleets, heavy trucks, and trailers. Our services include diagnostics, repair, IDOT safety inspections, fleet maintenance, towing, and auto body. Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Automotive & Truck Mechanic to join our growing team. The right candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. Responsibilities: • Perform diagnostics and repairs on cars, light trucks, medium/heavy-duty trucks, and trailers • Conduct preventative maintenance, brake jobs, suspension, steering, electrical, and A/C service • Complete IDOT and DOT inspections (training provided if needed) • Work with fleet accounts, following standard operating procedures and documentation • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment • Communicate clearly with service writers and customers about vehicle needs Requirements: • 3+ years of automotive or truck repair experience (ASE certifications a plus) • Strong diagnostic skills with modern scan tools • Ability to perform a wide range of repairs (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, etc.) • Own basic tools (specialty tools provided) • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required) • Reliability, honesty, and strong work ethic What We Offer: • Competitive pay ($20–$37.50/hr based on experience; fleet work is hourly/flat-rate mix) • Overtime opportunities • Paid training and ASE certification support • Family-oriented environment, not a corporate chain • Modern facility with updated equipment and software • Steady fleet and retail work year-round Schedule: • Full-time (Monday–Friday, occasional Saturday) • Flexible hours for the right candidate (708)385-2210
