RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Foster a respectful and supportive learning environment both indoors and outdoors ● Invite children into the learning process by encouraging them to be curious and take risks. CURRICULUM: Creative Curriculum with Reggio Emilia Philosophy Influence ● Support the design of integrated and interdisciplinary projects throughout the year that are engaging and connected to age-appropriate skill sets. ● Provide engaging daily activities and provocations that encourage hands-on exploration and learning. ● Stay up-to-date with content knowledge and best instructional practices, incorporating the latest research and effective teaching strategies. ● Assist in creating a clean, organized, and inspiring classroom that encourages independence and sparks curiosity. ● Collaborative Curriculum Design: Partner with teaching colleagues and Early Childhood specialists to develop a dynamic curriculum that incorporates values, and traditions. ● Learning Documentation: Create engaging documentation that showcases student learning for parents, fellow educators, and visitors. ● Child Portfolio Development: Compile comprehensive portfolios for each child, including photographs, observations, and work samples, to reflect their developmental journey. TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: ● Knowledge of instructional methods tailored to students’ grade level and diverse needs. ● Passion for working with students of various backgrounds and abilities, supporting their growth toward educational success. ● Excellent organizational and time-management skills, able to meet deadlines, manage both small and large groups, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues—especially on sensitive topics. ● Proficient in using assistive technologies, email systems, and software like word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets. ● Comfortable with both PC and Apple computers, utilizing them to enhance instruction and student learning .● DCF 45 hours completed and CPR/First Aid certification training. ● Knowledge of NAEYC’s required standards to maintain the school’s accreditation on an ongoing basis. ● Associate teachers must have a CDA or an AA in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
