We are hiring an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction and remodeling, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead crews while working directly with homeowners. As a Lead Carpenter, you’ll oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Lead Carpenter Responsibilities Manage subcontractors and trades on residential remodeling projects Secure and organize all necessary jobsite materials Apply for and post building permits as required Schedule and attend inspections Assist and mentor carpenters and crew members on site Track punch lists and project progress using BuilderTrend Pick up and deliver jobsite materials as needed Communicate clearly with homeowners about project status and timelines Solve issues quickly and keep projects on schedule Maintain organized and stocked company vehicles Lead Carpenter Requirements Proven experience in carpentry and residential remodeling Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans Strong leadership, communication, and planning skills Knowledge of construction practices—from foundations to finishing work Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes Ability to direct, manage, and train others Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Compensation & Benefits $22–$28/hour base pay (depending on experience) Performance-based bonuses (earning potential $30–$32/hour) IRA match Paid vacation and holidays If you’re an experienced Lead Carpenter looking for a long-term career with a trusted Harrisonburg remodeling contractor, we want to hear from you.
