Single dad of two (boy 9, girl 11) seeks energetic, enthusiastic childcare professional for part time work (every other week, Thursday - Monday) in Sheffield, MA. Offer includes room and board in a newly renovated and fully furnished apartment separate from the main house and a monthly stipend of $1000. Responsibilities include transportation (must have valid driver's license and clean driving record), cooking, cleaning, homework help, and light housework.

The Educational Equality Institute, an NGO based in Norway committed to educating and thereby empowering disadvantaged girls. In response to the war in Ukraine, we started the project: “Together for Ukraine”. Free educational programs where we, together with our partners, will help 100.000 Ukrainians shape their future through education, upskilling, and employment. We are looking for a volunteer Language Teacher to join our Educational team at TEEI. As a language teacher, you will help to enhance the language skills of our students. Role Scope Developing lesson plans and materials to teach basic language skills to students. Conducting online or in-person language classes for students. Evaluating students' progress and providing feedback to help them improve. Collaborating with other volunteers and staff members to develop effective teaching strategies. Providing support and guidance to students to help them achieve their language learning goals. Participating in training sessions and workshops provided by TEEI to enhance your teaching skills. Requirements Experience in teaching or tutoring language learners. Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a multicultural team. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Passion for helping underprivileged communities through education. Fluent in Italian. Having a language teaching certificate is highly valued. Good level of spoken/written English. Position Summary: The Childcare Classroom Aide supports the daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children. This position will provide support to all classrooms. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): The successful candidate will: • Provide care and protection for assigned children. • Consider and provide for the needs of the individual in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional or physical handicaps and individual style and pace of learning. • Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child. • Help children learn to adapt to and cope with real-life situations; to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping and personal hygiene. • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other career development and professional activities. • Assure that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate and in good condition. • Perform classroom related and other maintenance duties as requested. • Assist with public relations and events and other duties as assigned. • Maintain a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children. • Maintain confidentiality. • Perform all other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements • High school diploma or GED. • Six (6) months experience working as a Childcare Classroom Aide. • Solid understanding of childhood development, preferred. • Food Worker Card, preferred. • Ability to lift and move up to sixty (60) pounds. • Must pass a state and federal background check. • CPR and First Aid Certification. At Mad Science and Crayola Imagine Arts Academy (formerly ART-Ventures for Kids) we are having a blast! In our enrichment programs we build and fly rockets, demonstrate lasers,  explore the states of matter using dry ice, and help children create slime and other polymers. Our art programs foster creativity throug exposure to an amazing variety or art media, tools and techniques. You will inspire the next generation of scientists and artists through our innovative activities that show kids what science and art is really all about.   We are currently looking for energetic individuals to join our growing team to conduct art and science programs during after-school hours. You do not need to be a certified teacher, nor do you need to be a science or art major. Responsibilities: Facilitating a one-hour after-school  enrichment program using a pre-set curriculum (approximately two hours on site) Each session is a high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on class that meets for one-hour each week for 8-12 weeks per semester. Possibility to facilitate birthday parties, stage shows or other events  Requirements: Some experience working with groups of elementary age (4-12) children (such as enrichment instructor, teacher, volunteer or camp counselor). Must be available at least 2-3 weekdays M-Th after 2 pm and be willing to travel (paid) to multiple nearby schools/locations.  Must have a reliable car and drivers license All employees will be subject to a criminal background checks(required) Additional availability Friday or Saturday for weekly equipment exchange meetings Some college experience preferred. Degrees and/or graduate degrees a plus. Science major not required for Mad Science, some art background preferred for ART-ventures/Crayola Imagine Arts.  Have an engaging and outgoing personality May not concurrently be a full time classroom teacher or regular substitute if your day ends after 2PM - you can not get to our programs on time. We train you in the curriculum, and provide all materials. Our  classes follow the school calendar and are presented throughout the school year. Our programs happen year round and we also conduct week-long summer programs at many locations all summer.
