Automotive Mechanics Needed! Company makes prototype vehicles - Must tool box with tools Allen Park and Livonia, MI (Wayne County) Pay: Up to $25/hr (based on experience) for Mechanic II Up to $30/hr (based on experience) for Mechanic III Shift: 6am or 6:30am to 2:30pm or 3:30pm M-F w/ OT as needed during the week and weekends *TOOL BOX with TOOLS ARE REQUIRED Overview: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Summary: The Automotive Mechanic will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections. • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components. • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures. • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders. • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs. • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up. Education and Experience (required): • High school diploma or equivalent. • For Mechanic II, 4 years of previous experience is required. • For Mechanic III, 8 years of previous experience required {mentor and oversees team members) • Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment. • Good attention to detail and organizational skills. • Able to work independently and as part of a team. • Has own tools with a rolling toolbox and is able to work overtime and weekends. • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures. Education and Experience (preferred): • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related. • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s). • State Mechanic Certification(s). • Valid driver’s license.
