Cleaner for Commercial Office Cleaning (Mid-Day & After-Hours Shifts) (Simi Valley)

Pay Rate: $34.91 per hour
Start Date: October 1, 2025
Work Schedule:
1-3 hours per day
Monday through Friday, Mid-day (between 11 AM - 2 PM) and After Business Hours (after 6 PM) excluding state holidays
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Cleaner to perform thorough cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of facilities during both mid-day and after-hours shifts. This role is crucial to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for employees and the public, following strict health and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Mid-Day Duties:
Clean and disinfect all high-touch surfaces (e.g., handrails, doorknobs, light switches, restroom fixtures, break room appliances).
Use appropriate cleaners and disinfectants per surface type; follow product label instructions.
Allow disinfectants to air dry for effectiveness.
Restock all dispensers (soap, paper towels, sanitizer, etc.).
Empty and sanitize waste and recycling receptacles; change liners as needed.
Spot clean carpets and sweep/mop visible debris on all types of flooring (tile, vinyl, polished concrete, etc.).
Remove and discard empty boxes unless marked otherwise.
Clean janitor closets and tools daily to prevent cross-contamination.
Designate specific cleaning tools for rooms (not restrooms).
After-Hours Duties:
Deep clean and disinfect all surfaces, furniture, workstations, and public areas.
Vacuum carpets, spot clean, and remove stuck-on gum.
Sweep, mop, rinse, and wipe baseboards on all floor types using EPA-approved cleaners.
Disinfect modular furniture, break room items, and touchscreen devices properly.
Clean all interior windows, doors, mirrors, and glass surfaces up to 6 feet high.
Reset lobby chairs to comply with ADA spacing requirements.
Restock dispensers and ensure cleanliness of employee chairs and fixtures.
Secure facility, activate alarms, and report hazards or needed repairs.
Weekly Tasks:
Dust furniture and horizontal/diagonal surfaces up to 6 feet.
Sweep and damp mop floors.
Polish all metal/brass surfaces.
Bi-Weekly Tasks:
Apply and buff floor finish on hard, resilient, and LVT floors.
Ensure proper drying between coats.
Quarterly Tasks:
Dust and clean blinds, vents, light fixtures, and ceiling tiles.
Clean vinyl chairs, wood panels, and railings.
Power scrub and seal grout and tile in restrooms.
Strip, rinse, and seal hard floors in applicable rooms.
Qualifications:
Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and disinfectant use.
Ability to follow safety procedures and cleaning protocols.
Physically able to lift 30 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
Dependable with good communication and time management skills.
Work Environment:
Indoor facility with various surface types and equipment.
Evening and/or mid-day hours; flexible scheduling required.
May involve handling chemical cleaning agents and lifting heavy items.
