Landscape Construction Laborer with Commercial Irrigation Installation (Gilbert)

Summary/Objective The Commercial Landscape Construction Laborer with irrigation  experience will install, modify, and inspect commercial irrigation systems. This is a hands-on position requiring strong expertise skills in daily tasks such as evaluating how many heads are required in a lateral line, correct fittings based on PSI. The Irrigation Pipefitter will be responsible for completing work assignments as directed by the Foreman and reading irrigation plans for proper installations. Using hand and/or power tools or equipment to perform a wide range of landscape and irrigation duties -Performs landscape irrigation layout and installation -Complete work assignments as directed by the Foreman Read and follows irrigation plans for installation -Know how to operate, ensure safe and efficient use of all equipment/ tools related to irrigation and landscape installation -Maintain all assigned equipment and tools in proper working condition and keeps them clean and presentable. Notify foreman of all tool and equipment needs, in advance, prior to use -Follows directions from the Crew Leaders; performs landscape construction functions -Clears trenches, digs holes, and performs handwork as necessary using a pick, shovel, or other hand tools -Ensures work is performed to the company's and customer's expectations -Finishes the work efficiently thereby improving gross margin -Recognizes areas for improvement in the landscape and communicates this to the Crew Leader -Maintains tools and equipment to ensure safety -Performs general clean up at the work site -Thinks ahead and completes tasks efficiently -Attends safety meetings -Demonstrates the ability to work independently -Communicates well with others using basic English or Spanish -PPE usage required at all times -Plants vegetation as instructed -Provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies Safety: Performs all job functions safely; complies with all safety policies, procedures, and standards (e.g., PPE, proper lifting, wears seat belt when in a vehicle); reports all safety-related incidents to supervisor immediately; attends all safety meetings. -Punctuality, Attendance, and Appearance: Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and attendance policy and procedures. -Customer Service: Consistently exceeds customer expectations by working efficiently and ensuring that all job quality standards are met; maintains a pleasant, positive, and professional disposition to all customers; is friendly at all times. -Interpersonal Skills: Treats others with respect, collaboration, and support in such a way that work relationships are improved and morale is increased; communicates well with others. Education/Experience/Licenses -A minimum of two full years of landscape construction irrigation installation, and drainage experience -Must display proficiency in use of landscape related equipment -Must be proficient in all irrigation installation techniques Supervisory Responsibilities -None Work Environment -Work outdoors for entire shift in extreme weather conditions and direct sun for the entire shift Physical Requirements -Ability to work in extreme conditions-temperatures may exceed 100 Degrees Fahrenheit -Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended period of time -In this role you may frequently stand, walk, climb or crouch on narrow or slippery surfaces that may have a steep incline Heavy work. Excreting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs of force to move objects. -You will stoop, kneel, bend to pick up and/or move objects and walk for long distances on potentially slop ground and uneven surfaces. -Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs (mulch, fertilizer, etc.) -Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day -Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required) -Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
