Experienced and professional drummer available. Instagram: Rhythm_AndBooze. I’m always looking for opportunities to substitute or sit in with a band, but I would really like to find a more permanent group of musicians who are talented, driven, and reliable in the ways that I also strive to be. I most enjoy playing funk, pop, rock, or music that gets people dancing and moving, but my biggest goal and desire is simply to play for good crowds that are engaged and having a great time. Choice of music and even money will always come second to that, but they are important too. I’m a high energy drummer who doesn’t mind playing tastefully, staying in the pocket, taking drum solos, improvising, playing to a click, following a backing track, singing lead or backups, leading or following. I always aim to serve the music and leave ego at home. I can bring a big loud kit or a quiet stripped down one and I have all my own drum mics and cables if needed. I only and always play sober, though I do drink and party on my own time and don’t care if you’re sober so long as you play well. I’m a very laid back person in my own life, but I take music seriously and expect the same from anyone I would play full-time with. Another skill of mine is learning songs very quickly. I’ve played over 215 different cover songs live on stage with 7 different bands, 3 of which as a full-time member. These bands ranged from tight rehearsals using backing tracks all the way to showing up for a NYE gig to play for 3 hours having never met anyone in the band before. Obviously, I prefer to have the time to master the songs at practice and work in all those tight stops and extra eccentricities, but sometimes time is of the essence and that’s fine too. I’ve also played as a full-time member of two metal bands and an original rock band, but I’m more interested in playing covers now unless the money is right. I’ve played more live shows than I can count, sometimes back to back days, sometimes 2 in one day, and I’m very comfortable on stage. I recently substituted for a drummer and headlined a festival. We only had time for one practice before the two hour set, but the band would agree that the show went extremely well. I can provide references if needed. If you think I might be a good fit for your group either now or in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out and tell me a little about your experience and your band! I look forward to jamming with you!
