The 84 Peterson (a block away) bus gets you to the red line at Bryn Mawr. The 49B Western bus 2 1/2 blocks east gets you to the brown line at Western. Red and Brown line stops are each about 2 miles, if you prefer a long walk. There are several non-chain ethnic grocers on Devon. The Target on Peterson is five blocks walk. An Aldi store is two blocks away. Tony's Fresh Market on Lincoln near Foster is about a mile south. There are many fine and fast food restaurants within a half mile walk. While the area is sort of identity deprived, it is relatively safe and a decent choice if you drive to work and not far from some of the big name hot spots ... not really West Rogers Park, which is thought of as at least north of Devon. Not really Westridge either, usually associated with further east and north again. A little too far north to be considered Lincoln Square(about a mile south). The north end of Edgewater/Andersonville is straight east. A block north of what the Tribune Real Estate neighborhood map calls Arcadia Terrace. Two miles South of Evanston.
