Description

This is a great job, in a comfortable home environment, and pays well at $20/hour. Experience preferred, but entry level accepted. This is a part-time position offering at least 2-3 evenings a week from 5/6 pm - 10/11pm. This position is flexible with the possibility for more hours. If you are interested in additional day shift hours, I am looking for help going to doctors' appointments one to two days a week. If you are taking me to a doctor's appointment, we will schedule an appropriate day shift ahead of time if it works for you. Regular afternoon hours are also a possibility. PCA tasks can include: - Light housecleaning - Basic cooking/kitchen tasks - Laundry - Personal care (grooming, showering, hair care) - Shopping - Medication help - Paperwork, and helping type letters on the computer - Organizing - Going to local doctor's appointments (using your own vehicle) This job is paid for by MassHealth through Tempus Unlimited. This job does not pay under the table. Qualified persons: - Are reliable and responsible workers - Possess some computer skills - Must be at least 18 years of age - Have received up-to-date vaccines/boosters for Covid-19 and seasonal flu - Do not smoke - Drive a reliable smoke-free vehicle (that is your own) that can accommodate a fold-up wheelchair - Own a cell phone - Can provide two references If emailing please include your name, phone number, and any other helpful information you would like me to know. Emergency Medical Technician (Anchorage)
POSITION SUMMARY: The EMT is responsible for delivering high-quality pre-hospital and interfacility medical care and ensuing the safe, efficient transport of critically ill or injured patients via ground ambulance. This role requires a skilled and adaptable individual who can operate effectively in dynamic, high-pressure environments, including rural and remote settings. The Ground Paramedic works collaboratively with health partners to assess, stabilize, and manage patients in the field and during transport. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine medical needs during transport. • Provide advanced life support (ALS) and critical care interventions, including airway management, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration. • Continuously monitor and manage patient conditions during transport, making necessary interventions as per medical protocols. • Communicate effectively with medical control, receiving facilities, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, interventions, and transport details. • Ensure safe and efficient patient transport via ground ambulance. • Assist in loading and unloading patients while ensuring proper securing of stretchers and medical equipment. • Operate within ground safety protocols, following crew resource management principles. • Perform pre-transport equipment checks to ensure all medical supplies and life support equipment are operational. • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care. • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide reassurance and information about the transport process. • Participate in debriefings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety. • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding emergency medica services and air medical transport. • Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment. • Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Proficient in communicating with patients, families, medical staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, onboard personnel, and clinics to ensure seamless coordination of care. • Maintains professionalism and composure in high-stress and emergency situations. • Responds promptly to phone calls and emails to facilitate efficient communication and decision-making. • Evaluates and interprets patient information to make informed clinical decisions in collaboration with a partner. • Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment when exposed to infectious agents, toxic chemicals, or hazardous environment. • Prepares and administers medications accurately, ensuring correct concentration and dosages. • Possesses a strong understanding of ground transport operations to ensure safe and efficient patient transfers. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • EMT with a current license in Alaska. • Preferred certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Prehospital Trauma Life Support. • One (1) to three (3) years field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service. • Transport experience preferred. • Valid driver’s license and insurable under Knik Tribes automotive insurance, which requires drivers to be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record. • Clean state and federal background check.
