Food Preparation: Chop, slice, and prepare ingredients (vegetables, meats, sauces, etc.). o Follow recipes or menu specifications to ensure consistency. o Marinate, season, and portion food appropriately. 2. Cooking: o Cook food according to the restaurant's standards (grilling, frying, baking, etc.). o Monitor cooking times and temperatures. 3. Kitchen Organization: o Keep the workstation clean and organized. o Set up stock stations with necessary supplies. o Ensure proper storage of food, labeling, and rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out). 4. Sanitation & Safety: o Follow food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., washing hands, wearing gloves/hairnets). o Clean kitchen equipment and utensils. o Maintain a clean and safe working environment. 5. Collaboration: o Communicate with other kitchen staff and front-of-house when necessary. o Work with chefs, sous-chefs, or kitchen managers to ensure food is prepared properly and on time. o Assist other cooks or stations during busy times. 6. Quality Control: o Inspect dishes before serving to ensure quality and presentation standards. o Adjust preparation when necessary based on feedback or customer needs (e.g., allergies, preferences). 7. Inventory Management (sometimes): o Inform supervisors when stock is low. o Help with receiving and storing deliveries. o Reduce food waste through proper prep and storage practices. Primary Duties of a Cashier: Primary Duties: -Greeting Customers -Welcome customers as they arrive. -Answer basic questions about the menu or services. -Taking Orders -Input dine-in or takeout orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system. -Repeat orders to ensure accuracy. -Handle cash, credit/debit card, mobile, or gift card transactions.
