Competitive Pay: $65 - $85 per hour and a half session Travel Compensation: Provided for trips over 15 miles (30 miles roundtrip) from the employee’s home or work location. Lead instructor Essentials: A Lead Instructor must be able to reach most or all of our classes in the metropolitan areas – reliable transportation is essential. Conduct interactive, friendly, and fun classes with 10-15 kids Minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching, tutoring, or as a camp counselor. Lead Instructors are expected to set the example of what the best Chess Wizards experience should be for our four customer groups: Kids, Parents, School Administration, and Fellow Colleagues, in full alignment with the Chess Wizards Mission Statement. Must be available during the after-school hours at least 4 days per week. Our preference is availability 5 days a week, for our peak program weeks during the fall, winter, and spring sessions (semesters). We will ensure that you have a full Monday-Friday after-school schedule during our peak program weeks, provided that we have classes scheduled for that day. Actual class start time will vary, depending on the assignment. Most of our classes begin directly after each school’s afternoon dismissal bell, which is usually between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Our standard program time is one hour. Teachers must arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time to set up and prepare, and stay until all students have been safely dismissed to an authorized adult. Our Lead Teachers are paid per class, with a total average time commitment of 1.5-2 hours (not including commute). Official class times that are longer than one hour pay more, appropriate to the extra time added. Lead Instructors are our first scheduling choice for day camp opportunities during the winter, spring, and summer breaks! Assist their local Area Manager in ensuring that all our programs and instructors are visited by management for coaching, customer conversations, and quality control. Assist with the training, coaching, and performance evaluation of our instructors. Help troubleshoot and resolve program challenges. Complete class evaluation reports and discuss them with their supervisor. Communicate daily during programming season with their supervisor. Speak regularly with school administration and parents during site visits, gather feedback, and assist with customer service and marketing efforts. Maintain standard professional communication best practices. Chess Wizards Instructors receive full training and ongoing support, with access to a complete curriculum and materials. POSITION SUMMARY: The SpiderShop Assistant Director supports the SpiderShop Director with day-to-day operations, with oversight of stockroom and satellite operations, designated personnel, marketing and promotional events, the store website and annual projects. Assists the Director with policy development and provides coverage in the absence of the Director. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Operations 70% Exercises oversight over daily operations. Oversees the SpiderShop website to ensure alignment with university brand standards and guide its evolution into a modern, revenue-driving e-commerce platform. Oversee e-commerce and in-store operations to optimize product visibility, transactions and order fulfillment. Provides leadership and guidance to staff with a focus on customer conversion, upselling and peak traffic management, and scheduling staff accordingly. Directs marketing and promotional strategies to increase sales, conversions and event driven revenue. Evaluates ROI of campaigns and initiatives to prioritize efforts with the highest revenue impact. Leverages campus partnerships, student ambassadors and advisory boards to expand market reach and boost sales opportunities. Manages/provides oversight of stockroom operations. Knowledge of brand management and digital retail design to ensure the store's online presence meets University standards while boosting revenue.
