NEED A CARETAKER FOR MY MOTHER WHO HAS DEMENTIA. (Skokie) (Skokie)
NEED A CARETAKER FOR MY MOTHER WHO HAS DEMENTIA. (Skokie) compensation: $15 an hour. Also I may be offer a free place to live. Good day. I am looking for another caretaker to watch my mother who has dementia. I currently have one who works from 10am-5pm every day and on the weekends but we need someone to help so she can get a rest. My cousin (a male) lives there with her but he will be working nights/days and so she needs someone to watch her when she is not sleeping at night. She lives in Skokie, IL and I might be able to offer a small room as part compensation as well as money paid. WHEN I WOULD NEED YOU WOULD BE FOR THESE HOURS: 7am-10am and 5/6pm to about 9pm M-F and one full day on the weekend. You would have about 9.5 hours with the state ($18.75) and the rest would be paid by myself. There might be instances where you would be required to work the full week if the primary caretaker is not available due to maybe being sick or tending to her family. This situation would be idea for someone that lives in the area and is retired or looking for flexible hours. But the above hours would be needed. Duties: Bathing, cooking her meals and maybe just walking her for some exercise. Also we have a washing machine in the basement where you would wash her clothes. She is able to walk independently but cognitively she has declined. The main caretaker does these chores but if needed we would like you to help out. But in the morning you probably would give her a bath and make her something simple to eat. Again, I can offer: $15 per hour. She also has hours available through the DORS program $18.75 which I can pay you through that way as well as cash. She has a small room next to her bedroom that you could live for free to offer as part compensation if the situation is right. FEMALE CARETAKER ONLY!! Sorry no discrimination but my mother needs a female. She lives in a 4 unit condo walk up building. The unit is clean and I expect for you to be clean as well. Please no scam artists and you will be required to do a background check from the state. Would like to hire someone ASAP. You probably would come by and spend a few hours with her to see if you like the situation. I will pay you for your time. Please respond with your background and I will call you to set up an interview. Regards,

Research Study for Adults with First Episode/Early Phase Schizophrenia (Chicago)
Hello, I wanted to let you know about a study that is taking place at our clinic. This study is sponsored by Vanguard Research Group and our clinic is one of the research sites helping them with this study. What is the purpose of this study? Schizophrenia is a condition that negatively affects people’s mental health in different ways. For example, it can affect a person’s mood, behavior, or cognition. Cobenfy is a new FDA approved drug for the treatment of the positive symptoms of schizophrenia. Cobenfy is different from other antipsychotics as it has a new “mechanism of action” compared to all other antipsychotics approved from the treatment of schizophrenia at this time. Since Cobenfy is the first medication of its drug class to be FDA approved for schizophrenia, researchers are interested to know how this new class of antipsychotics affects those with early phase schizophrenia specifically. This clinical trial will test if Cobenfy can help improve the positive symptoms of patients with first episode/early phase schizophrenia, better than other antipsychotics. To be eligible to participate, you must: ❖ Be at least 18 years or older ❖ Have a primary diagnosis of schizophrenia ❖ Have been on a stable dose of 1 antipsychotic medication for at least 8 weeks before treatment with no dose changes within the last 4 weeks. ❖ Have started your first antipsychotic treatment within the past 5 years. Patients who meet eligibility criteria and enroll will come into our office to receive the study drug. Once enrolled, in-person clinic visits will occur every 1-4 weeks for about 24 weeks until the end of treatment visit, with a final follow-up visit 28 days after you last take the study drug (no more than 13 visits total). If you decide to participate, the study drug will be provided by/paid for by our clinic and study related assessments will be conducted during clinic visits. You may also be compensated for your participation and be reimbursed for any study-related travel. Want to learn more? If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about this research study, please feel free to contact us by calling 312-503-9092 or emailing. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. Principal Investigator: Jeffrey Rado, MD STU00223950

Paid Research Study for People Diagnosed with Depression (Chicago)
Do you struggle with symptoms of depression? You may be able to take part in a research study. Some people experience decreased motivation, trouble finding enjoyment in everyday activities, and difficulty with sleep because of their depression. These challenges—known as symptoms of depression—can significantly affect daily life and overall well-being. Unfortunately, the medications available don’t always fully relieve these symptoms. The OARS-7 Study is examining a new investigational medication added on to your current treatment to potentially provide additional support for individuals struggling with motivation and enjoyment and insomnia due to depression. What is the OARS-7 Study? The OARS-7 study is two parts. If you are eligible to take part in the study, you have the option to complete both parts. The first part is a randomized control trial of the study medication versus a placebo. The second part is an open label treatment phase for study medication and a second subsequent randomized control trial for study medication versus placebo. The results of this study could help other people who experience symptoms of depression and need additional support. Who can take part? You may qualify for the OARS-7 Study if you are: • Between the ages of 18-74 • Have a primary diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) • Have been on a stable dose of an antidepressant medication (SSRI/SNRI) • Are still experiencing symptoms of depression This research study is completely voluntary. If you qualify, you do not have to join the study, and if you do join, you can leave the study at any time. Interested? Training will start on: -Saturday 10/4 at 8 AM The substitute caregiver is needed to care for a 60 year-old paralyzed man, while his regular caregiver is on vacation. IMPORTANT: Please note that although this job is labeled as "Full-Time" – if you're an experienced caregiver, then there will be a LOT of downtime. However, you would need to assist the patient whenever needed. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Patient is a 195 pound, 6 foot tall paralyzed male. The substitute caregiver must be strong enough to move the patient from one side of the bed to the other, in order to prevent pressure sores on the patient's skin. I've had many caregivers who were only a fraction of my weight, and they were able to easily move me from one side of the bed to the other – as long as they used correct nursing methods. During the day, the patient needs to be turned approximately 2-4 times. Overnight, the patient usually sleeps all night with no rotations. Patient has a quiet and easy-going personality. The urine drains into a 2 liter (2L) bag on the side of the bed. You must empty this bag at least 2-3 times a day. A Registered Nurse (RN) usually changes the patient's urinary ostomy appliance. However, you must be able to change the ostomy appliance by yourself if needed. You will be trained on how to do this. The patient can also help provide some limited instructions to you on how to do this. The patient eats about 2-3 times per day and occasionally 1-2 snacks. The foods are in the refrigerator, freezer, or kitchen cabinets. If needed, the foods can be easily microwaved.
