As we expand into our new flagship location at Union Market, we’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations, uphold our high standards, and bring a touch of magic to every creation. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee daily back-of-house operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends organization, teamwork, and creativity. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth kitchen operations, manage staff effectively, and maintain excellence in quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control. Develop and refine kitchen processes to maximize efficiency. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Collaborate with management on menu planning and product development. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment. Working Conditions / Essential Functions Flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work 10+ hour shifts, with extended standing, walking, and occasional squatting or reaching. Ability to grasp, push, and lift up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of culinary/kitchen management experience in a high-volume foodservice setting. Proven supervisory experience, ideally in a bakery or café environment. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of food safety regulations (ServSafe Manager certification required). Ability to effectively manage inventory and food costs. Passion for baking and an eye for detail. Preferred Skills Previous experience with French pastries, desserts, or specialty cafés.
