**Experienced Service Writer – Star Automotive (Thousand Oaks)** Star Automotive, a trusted and established full-service mechanic shop in Thousand Oaks, is seeking an Experienced Service Writer to join our team. If you have a strong background in automotive service writing, excellent communication skills, and a customer-first mindset, we want to hear from you. **Position Overview:** The Service Writer is the key link between our customers and technicians. This role is responsible for managing repair orders, communicating service recommendations, and ensuring an efficient and positive customer experience from start to finish. **Responsibilities:** * Greet customers in person and over the phone, listen to their concerns, and gather vehicle information * Create detailed repair orders and communicate repair recommendations clearly and professionally * Provide accurate estimates for labor and parts * Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and accurate repairs * Keep customers updated on the status of their vehicles * Handle warranty claims and insurance-related paperwork when applicable * Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used * Help manage shop workflow and schedule service appointments effectively * Uphold a high level of customer satisfaction and follow up on service experiences **Qualifications:** * Minimum 2 years of experience as a service writer or service advisor in an automotive repair environment * Strong knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance schedules, and repair procedures * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to explain technical information in a clear and professional manner * Strong organizational and time management skills * Proficiency with shop management software and basic computer skills * Must be dependable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented * Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required **What We Offer:** * Competitive pay based on experience * Opportunity to work with experienced technicians and a loyal customer base * Full-time position with growth potential
