Our Syracuse school has an immediate full-time opening for an Esthetics Instructor. We are seeking a licensed esthetician (& nail specialist a plus) who is interested in teaching and dedicated to shaping the next generation of beauty professionals. In this role, you will play a key part in providing students with a high-quality education and fostering an environment that encourages them to reach their full potential. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and the potential for 1 night per week until 8:00 p.m. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS Starting Pay = $20.00 – $21.00 per hour Health Dental 401(k) Life Insurance Paid Vacation Time – 2 weeks after 90 days and 3 weeks after 1 year Paid Sick Leave Time – accrue up to 40 hours per anniversary year Paid Holidays – 9 per year JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title – Instructor Department – Esthetics Reports To – Director Employment Status – ☐ Temporary ☒ Full-Time ☐ Part-Time FLSA Status – ☒ Non-Exempt ☐ Exempt POSITION SUMMARY To instruct students effectively and prepare them for successful completion of the program, passing their New York State Board Exams and be gainfully employment in their chosen field. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Maintain a thorough knowledge of the school’s mission and educational objectives and strive to always attain them. Maintain a thorough, accurate and current knowledge of the subject matter taught. Teach and follow the school’s published curriculum. Provide students with fun, exciting demonstrations to teach practical skills. Maintain accurate student attendance records. Administer and grade written and practical tests. Complete all required paperwork. Attend and complete required New York State and accrediting body training development courses Performing other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) New York State Instructor License Requirements – MUST HAVE: This instructor license requires one of the following license combinations: Current, valid NYS Esthetics practical license OR Current, valid NYS Esthetics AND Nail practical licenses OR Current, valid NYS Cosmetology practical license At least 2 years proven practical, licensed work experience in Esthetics OR in both Esthetics AND Nails High school diploma or GED Additional Requirements: Excellent oral communication and presentation skills Excellent interpersonal skills Effective problem-solving skills Basic computer skills to use email, spreadsheet, presentation and student e-book software Possess the ability to spend 80-100% of the typical work shift circulating the classroom ABOUT US Working at Continental means being part of a true family-owned business. Set up and operate progressive tooling and punch presses for metal stamping parts. Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in the press according to specs. Adjusts ram to specified length. Feeds steel to the die through the straightener and feeder making necessary adjustments. Monitor process during run. Submits first off sample to QA for approval. Adjust press, if necessary to make part to blueprint specs.
