Outstanding manufacturer that tackles real-world engineering challenges faced during the development of complex RF and wireless systems seeks Production Manager with production engineering experience. This company's antennas, advanced IoT components, and custom design services are the building blocks that bring connectivity solutions to market on time, the first time. Reporting to the COO the Production Manager will be responsible to monitor the local manufacturing of Company products coming directly from customers. This will include managing the daily operations of the CCD (Cable & Connector Division) department to include the labor resource management, production planning, delivery tracking, and the overall organization of the production facility. Responsibilities: •Oversee the daily workflow of the CCD team and production planning teams, manage the overtime spend for each team and optimize the costs •Works with Sales team, Customer Service team and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies, quality improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction •Ensure quality of Company products remains up to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, IPC610 and IPC620 as well as create a dashboard for consistent monitoring in the production line, and meeting the on-time delivery metrics •Create solutions for automating any repetitive tasks to develop more efficient practices [capex planning / jigs / equipment] •Identify and Reduce cycle time for most of manufacturing steps in our current production lines •Review and optimize SOP’s regularly to ensure that the alignment with current operational standards and for correct build processes and quality •Identifies, investigates, and resolves challenges within manufacturing operations layout •Informs production planning department, relevant management, and other stakeholders of delays or shortages •Develop team members and establish a culture based on teamwork, mutual trust, and continuous improvement •Exercise the usual authority of a manager in relation to hiring, coaching, counselling, training, mentoring, conducting performance evaluations, promotions, etc. of the staff. •Ensure the efficient and effective implementation of Lean and Six Sigma initiatives within the organization to improve on-time delivery performance, improve first-pass quality yields, and reduce production costs. •Improve dashboard for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly •Display warehouse management skills •Continue enforcing Health & Safety procedures •Interact and develop relationship with our contract manufacturers in USA and Mexico Competencies required: •Collaboration Skills •Communication Proficiency •Ethical Conduct •Personal Effectiveness / Credibility •Problem Solving / Analysis Required Skills & Qualifications: •10 years production engineering (Ultrasonic welding, heats taking, soldering, air leaking, IP67 testing, automatic gluing machines, cable harnesses, Komax, Schleuniger…) •5 years production management experience, preferably within the assembly of antennas, cables, wire harnessing, and other electronic devices •5 years of experience utilizing SAP •Prior production engineering skillset in ODM, CM, or larger factory is a strong plus •Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) •Strong supervisory and leadership skills. •Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Supervisory Responsibility: This position will oversee the CCD / Assembly team, with possible additional roles to be added later Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel: Up to 10% of overnight travel is anticipated for this position. Frequent travel outside the local area and overnight. Some occasional local day travel may be necessary.
