Boston-based worker-owned cooperative seeks a responsible Warehouse Helper to support its growing organic waste collection business. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable with physically demanding work. This role primarily involves cleaning and maintaining totes, keeping the warehouse organized, and assisting drivers on collection routes when needed. Schedule Typical schedule is 15 to 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 5:00 am and 1:00 pm. Compensation $18.00 per hour Responsibilities Wash and sanitize 32- and 64-gallon compost totes. Keep warehouse, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and safe. Help load and unload totes of food waste when assisting drivers on route. Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times. Courteous and respectful interactions with coworkers and customers. Perform other warehouse and collection support tasks as assigned. Qualifications At least 1–2 years of work experience in warehouse, janitorial, or other physically demanding roles. Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy loads (up to 100 lbs). A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Working Conditions and Physical Effort This position requires strenuous physical activity, including frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling. Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions, including wet and humid environments. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noises, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions.
