Hey all, I have 2 10x10 bedrooms, one on the first floor of a great big older craftsman house in the heart of the Williams/Vancouver Corridor. The other is on the 2nd floor. This house has seen some neglect in the past, but since I have come on board, and after some much needed cleaning, I've been trying to find a great group of people to make it a place worth coming home to. The Numbers: Rent is $650 for the 2nd floor room, and $625 for the 1st floor room. Gigabyte Fiber internet is included. Electric is included. Gas is included, but with a possible $25/mo premium for heat in the coldest months. There is a quarterly water bill of about $100 per person. Move in is first months rent only! The lease is month to month. Full 30 days notice required on leaving. This is one of the last few places of actually affordable living for this developing area and the included utilities help keep things simple and headache free! The rooms are available now. If the ad is still up, the rooms are still available. If you write just to ask if the rooms are available, you will not receive a reply. The House: 4 bedrooms total, 1 on ground floor, 3 on the second floor. 1 bath on 2nd floor. House is located just off Williams/Vancouver corridor, just south of Alberta St. Located right between Alberta and Mississippi Districts, an excellent location close to these cool neighborhoods. Parking is on street, first come first served. Very close to PCC. No Laundry on site, but Spin is a few blocks away, and is excellent. Kitchen is Omnivore. Meals are not shared (unless you want to). Large semi-private, fenced back yard with fire pit and room for gardening. And an amazing ancient rainier cherry tree! Steep concrete front street steps are the only front entrance up to the porch and house--not a mobility friendly house. Dangerous and expensive to run space heaters are pretty discouraged. No central cooling, so in summer, fans, and or small window ac units are recommended during heat waves. There is currently one indoor cat. The available rooms are unfurnished, and have hardwood floors. You’re welcome to paint! Regular chores (taking out trash and recycling, sweeping floors) are shared among room mates. Everyone chips in, and we hire a maid service for the bathroom as needed. Current tenant does the landscaping. It is not a communal house, however. We don’t have game nights, potlucks and chore wheels. It’s private living in a shared house. This is a PERFECT room for a quiet gamer, student, restaurant worker, or artist. It's a comfortable, peaceful living space with plenty of room for you to be as social or as private as you like. This is not, however, a party house, music house, or after bar hours flophouse. The Rules: No hard drugs or substance abusers. Cannabis and reasonable drinking ok. No smoking inside. No incense or heavy cologne or perfume use in common areas. No Frequent Guests or Overnighters turning into unplanned new roommates. Rooms are single occupancy. No damage to rooms or house will be tolerated, please keep your rented space clean, safe and hygienic. Be considerate of others' time, and need of clean kitchen and clean bathroom areas. Be considerate of others' peace, and keep your own noise down. Be considerate of others' possessions, and don’t use or take stuff without asking. No Drama. Handle any conflicts reasonably, with maturity. The Roommates: Current tenant is 40, male, a self employed gardener and hobbyist streamer. Reformed barfly, turned homebody, usually on a job or at his PC in his basement room. The cat is his. Experienced with shared living for 20+ years. Very even keeled, friendly, funny, intelligent, handy, intensely dislikes drama and habitual bad mood havers. Enjoys cooking and cuisine, the rare cigar in the shade, gaming, podcasts, nature, food carts, and coffee. Tenant 2 works at a brewpub, and enjoys cooking and riding his bike. Tenant 3 works at a busy restaurant, and enjoys gaming or hanging with his GF. You will have to verify your income, creidt and background check with the Property Management company. $50 non refundable charge. You only have to pay this if you want to apply to move in. There is no charge to view the rooms. Property Management will require you to eventually have or purchase Renter's Insurance, which is cheap and a good idea, anyway. It’s actually a great big ol house in a great area, for a great price. We just need some great people to complete it. Come see it today! Please email me with some details about yourself, such as the hours you typically work, and your experience living with others in shared housing, and I’ll get right back to you if the fit seems good! Thanks for reading, and good luck room hunting!
