Diesel Mechanic (Waipahu)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated team in Waipahu. In this essential role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems on a fleet of semi-trucks, trailers, and buses. You will ensure all equipment is kept in top working condition by performing regular maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring safety standards are met at all times. Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines (Caterpillar, Cummins, Kenworth) to maintain optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, ensuring all wiring and components are functioning correctly.
Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and buses to minimize downtime.
Conduct full vehicle assessments and execute timely repairs on both scheduled and unscheduled service calls.
Maintain detailed service records of work completed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.
Monitor and adhere to routine maintenance schedules, making sure all equipment receives necessary attention on time.
Communicate findings and repair needs effectively with the maintenance supervisor and team to prioritize and allocate resources appropriately.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in diesel technology preferred.
3 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic, with experience on semi-trucks, trailers, and buses.
Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Valid driverâs license with a clean driving record.

Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate is typically in the range of $26 to $30 per hour based upon experience and skillset.
