Organization Description Food For Thought (FFT) is a nonprofit that provides comprehensive nutrition services to people in Sonoma County affected by serious medical conditions. Our services include medically tailored weekly groceries and prepared meals, vitamins and supplements, and nutrition education. Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance & Administration (DFA) oversees all fiscal operations of the organization including the development and coordination of budgets, audits, grants, contracts, monthly financial reporting, IT, and office management. The DFA is a member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, communicating comprehensive financial information to the staff and board, and optimizing financial processes to support the organization's mission and objectives. This position provides direct supervision Food For Thought's Office Manager and IT Coordinator. Responsibilities: Financial Management • Oversee the annual planning/budgeting processes and prepare the annual operating budget. Work with staff and Budget Committee to develop and implement program and organizational budgets. • Ensure that financial management systems, policies, and procedures include all appropriate controls to maintain the fiscal integrity of the organization. • Manage all accounting and financial functions, including payroll processing, accounts payable, donor payouts, accounts receivable, pledges receivable, general ledger, grant/contract invoicing, and cash flow. • Provide the Executive Director and Board Finance Committee with accurate and timely financial reports and analyses. Serve as professional staff assigned to the Finance Committee and Audit Committee. • Prepare and coordinate with external audit firm all financial information and reports necessary for timely and accurate annual audits, Federal and State tax filings, and corporate filings. • Responsible for all financial management of federal grants and contracts, as well as private and local government grants and contracts, including invoicing, tracking of expenses, receipt of payments, and grant compliance requirements. • Other assignments requested by the Executive Director. Administration & Technology • Serve as information technology contact with intermediary IT consultants. • Negotiate and maintain contracts on equipment as needed (IT, telephone, office space, office equipment) and related needs of the agency. • Maintain files for corporate filings and contracts. Assure adequate records retention and historical data. • Review and execute all insurance policies including worker's compensation and general liability. Manage renewals and audits. Evaluate coverages and pricing for current conditions. • Provide supervision and evaluation of Office Manager and IT Assistant. The Commons on MLK is a partnership between Lane County, Homes for Good, ShelterCare and Quantum Residential focused on providing permanent housing to 51 chronically homeless individuals who are part of the Frequent User System Engagement (FUSE) program for high service users. The Keystone is a 15-unit permanent supportive housing project for chronically homeless families with children. This project was funded through special PSH funds from OHCS and OHA with services provided by ShelterCare and property management by Quantum Residential. Bridges on Broadway is a partnership with Lane County and Oregon Housing and Community Services focused on providing permanent housing to 56 chronically homeless individuals referred through Coordinated Entry. This project is under construction and will open in 2025. The Commons on MLK and Bridges on Broadway are staffed 24 hours a day with services staff on-site from 8am-6pm. About the position: This position is a lead entrance station kiosk (kiosk) staff support role for a non-profit organization that works in concert with California State Parks to maintain and enhance state parks in the Santa Cruz District. Friends is looking for individuals who would enjoy working with State Parks staff to ensure the smooth operation of all campground and day use facilities at our beautiful state parks and beaches. The starting pay for this full-time permanent position is $22.79/per hour and includes a comprehensive health care package and other benefits.
