A Farm for All! 501c3 in Webatuck (Wingdale), Dutchess County, New York, has a room available. You will be sharing the house with four others: a farm team of three and another tenant. We are a working non-profit whose mission is to provide access to land to under-served communities through events, skill sharing and volunteer opportunities. We have one master bedroom available . Full size closets, large windows and steam heaters. Space is fully furnished. Community living room, dining room and kitchen, bathroom shared with one other tenant. Heat is by wood stoves and oil. Individual rooms utilities included Utilities such as electricity, heating oil and internet are included Library, amp, music in 2nd living room. Garden space available. We have one cat. Short term stays are available as well as 1 month and 6 month leases. Community residential experience strongly preferred. Long-term possibilities may be available. Harlem Valley-Wingdale Metro-North train station and Dutchess County bus are 3 miles away. Walk 15 minutes to Appalachian Trail. Within the non-profit we have or are developing the following projects: - a microgreens operation in the downstairs addition to the house - a worker-cooperative farm growing medicinal herbs, doing food-justice work, serving our immediate area and region - healing events - nonprofit education and eco-social entrepreneurship - a creative site for sustainable land use such as renewable energy, forest garden - woodworking shop - trail system We enjoy 3 acres of farm fields, 43 acres of wooded hillside and a brook flowing into the nearby Tenmile River. Our full-size barn also dates from 1820. On our land we host events such as equinox and solstice ceremonies; music jams; and farming skill-sharing, workshops and other programming. About this lister A Farm For All! 501(c)3 non-profit is the owner of the space and Sarah is the Director. The most likely person to be showing the space is Ben who is the resident farmer and founder of the project. A lot of how we keep the space functioning and thriving is mentioned in the paragraph above. We all appreciate neatness and cleanliness and also operate projects in the farmhouse and our use of the shared spaces can be in flux. We are ideally looking for folks who have an interest and/or experience in community and farming or just like being around it to rent with us. Artists are also always welcome. Rental requirements Applicants should connect with our community vision. Equality and respect of diversity are key values for us. We welcome discussion about what this has meant for us and about our plans for the future. All residents must contribute to household chores. We prioritize natural and organic household goods.
