Position Overview: This is an assistant managerial position that reports to the Project Manager and/or Sr. Project Manager for the Department    Assigned Responsibilities: Manage projects and scopes as assigned by manager. Work with owner’s representative to communicate progress of project. Prepare preliminary estimates / budgets.  Select subcontractors to solicit bids.  Review subcontractor proposals  Prepare, review for approval, and submit contract changes/proposal to owner. Negotiate contract changes/proposals with owners. Solicit and process submittals and shop drawings. Collaborate and prepare CPM project schedule.  Preparation of job cost budget.  Monitor construction progress with Superintendent.  Maintain project documentation.  Investigate adverse situations and report to PM and/or Sr. PM Represent company in project meetings, when required. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining project costs. Active participation in safety Additional duties as assigned.  Requirements B.S Construction Management / Engineering and / or 2-3 years general construction experience required.  Knowledge of construction, quantity take-offs and estimating required.  Computer skills, knowledge of Project Management, scheduling, good communication and organizational skills are necessary.  Ability to work independently on assigned projects. Bachelor's in Civil Engineering; Master's degree is highly preferred, Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Massachusetts is required. Successful history of developing client relationships. Comprehensive theoretical knowledge of roadway related engineering principals Experience with MassDOT design manuals, procedures, specifications, standards, computer programs, applicable design codes, engineering software, and plan presentation format required. Thorough knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA and Local Agency design standards and specifications. Thorough knowledge of highway, right-of-way, drainage, and traffic-related designs. Knowledge of construction techniques for highways and traffic. Experience with preferred highway/traffic engineering client design software programs such as: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro, Sidra, SignCAD, Etc. Experience with Design-Build (D/B) and Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) project delivery. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
