Service Sale Representative - Solar (Bay Area) (Petaluma, CA)

Your Role:
We are seeking a proven salesperson with technical aptitude who wants to advance their career in the solar service sector. Youâll be the first point of contact for homeownersâresponding to inbound inquiries, qualifying opportunities, and presenting solutions ranging from diagnostics to upgrades and long-term subscription plans.
You donât need to be an electrician, but you should be comfortable discussing technical home services (solar, roofing, HVAC, electrical, or related trades). Youâll focus on quickly responding to inbound leads, building rapport with homeowners, and confidently converting service inquiries into booked jobs. As you grow, youâll take on more complex scopes, positioning yourself for future advancement in sales or service leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
Respond quickly to inbound homeowner inquiries.
Qualify service opportunities and present solutions (diagnostics, cleaning, inverter/battery swaps).
Confidently present pricing, financing, and subscription options.
Quote and present add-on services, when appropriate (e.g., add-on batteries or expansions).
Operational Support
Schedule technicians efficiently.
Confirm customer availability, expectations, and any site-prep requirements.
Prepare scopes and estimate templates.
Handle inverter RMAs and coordinate warranty logistics.
Customer Experience
Provide clear communication throughout the service process.
Follow up after jobs to ensure satisfaction and position subscription plans.
Handle objections with empathy and professionalism.
Learning & Growth
Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales scripts, estimate templates, and pricing menus.
Track personal KPIs and apply feedback to improve close and attach rates.
Required Qualifications
2â4+ years of sales experience in home services, construction, or technical trades.
Strong comfort with technical conversations (solar preferred, but any experience in electrical, HVAC, roofing, or similar trades is helpful).
Demonstrated success in closing service or upgrade sales.
CRM/ticketing system proficiency (ServiceTitan, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, responsive, and highly customer-focused.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience in solar service or installation sales.
Familiarity with Bay Area permitting and PG&E interconnection norms.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Prior experience selling maintenance plans.
Tools & Tech
CRMs: ServiceTitan, HubSpot, Salesforce (or equivalent).
Monitoring portals: Enphase Enlighten, Tesla, SolarEdge (exposure a plus).
Simply Solarâs internal platforms for dispatch, notes, and billing.
Work Model
Location: Petaluma, CA (in-office preferred during initial learning phase, with ability to transition to hybrid office/remote). Occasional field ride-alongs throughout the Bay Area
Schedule: MonâFri (Full Time)
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $65,000â $80,000, depending on experience
Variable/Commission: $10,000â$25,000 at target, based on bookings, close rate, and subscription attach.
