Presidio is seeking a Server Engineer for a customer in Center City Philadelphia. The preferred candidate would be local to the Greater Philadelphia area and able to travel into the office 3 days a week. This individual will be a member of IT Help Desk Team and ensure systems are operational, configured appropriately and performing correctly. Responsibilities: Server operations: Measure the power and performance of various server platforms including both internal and competitive systems. Responsible for server assembly, operation, SW installation and debug/repair of hardware. Setup, configure, run maintenance, and lifecycle of Storage and Data Backup solutions. Patch management testing and coordination including development and testing security patch packages. Participate in technical on-call rotation. Installation and maintenance: Install parts (e.g. processors, memory, storage, NICs, etc.) for both rack and bench systems. Perform routine data collection and maintain systems, racks, power, network, and remote access. Serve as a key enabler for offsite resources by resetting systems, swapping out parts, and providing overall scheduling for server usage. Maintain lab server and network infrastructure and conduct automated tests on Clients Software/Hardware components. Configure Windows, setup PC from scratch, and troubleshoot hardware and software. Load drivers in Windows. Assist in maintaining IP Addressing database. Assist in maintenance and auditing of all monitoring systems. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. 3+ years of experience working as a Server Technician, Network Administrator or Windows Server Administrator required. 3+ years' experience in Windows, MS-Exchange, MS Office 365, basic networking and overall end-user support required. Excellent customer service skills including the ability to work with all levels of employee. Must possess a sense of urgency and work well under pressure. Ability to work independently, remotely or as a team. Ability to participate in on call rotation that may include evenings and weekends. Day-to-day administration, monitoring, and maintenance related to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, packet shapers, wireless systems, and circuits. Design, implement, and monitor network systems related to: Cisco network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WiFi systems, Circuits: WAN/MPLS, internet, replication, SIP, Network VPNs. Assure off-site disaster recovery environment is consistently available. Participate in disaster recovery testing as directed. Work with IT Security Team to select, implement, and maintain security-related systems and address related incidents/events. Conduct troubleshooting and repair tasks on network at a detailed level and by device. Identify and resolve recurring issues and mitigate reliability risks. Coordinate, plan, and/or execute multiple annual disaster recovery exercises. Adhere to established change management processes. Create and maintain operational procedures. Provide level 3 technical support and participate in team on-call rotation. Participate in capacity planning, ensuring that systems have the capacity to meet strategic business needs with few or no reliability issues. Work with 3rd-party vendors to procure hardware and software solutions, as well as addressing updates and issues after implementation. Provide assistance and mentoring to Network Infrastructure Administrators and other Network Infrastructure Engineers. Other duties may be assigned to meet ongoing business needs. This position focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing customer-returned products and Core Systems–built servers. Resume Required. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on returned computer systems, servers, and components. Process RMA units through inspection, testing, and documentation. Repair hardware at the system, component, and board level when required. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action reports for customer returns. Work closely with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement. Maintain accurate service records and ensure timely turnaround of customer units. Qualifications Proven hands-on experience repairing computer systems, servers, or related IT hardware. Strong knowledge of hardware components (motherboards, CPUs, memory, storage, power supplies, etc.). Experience with diagnostic tools and test equipment. Ability to read schematics and follow technical documentation. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under time-sensitive conditions.
