Mountain Home, Ark. — March 25, 2025 — Vantive, a leading manufacturer of specialty medical components, officially broke ground on a significant expansion at its Mountain Home production facility today. The new addition will add 50,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, designed to meet growing demand for the company's filtration and fluid management products used in hospitals and clinics worldwide.
The project represents a $28 million capital investment and is expected to create approximately 80 full-time jobs over the next 18 months, with the majority of positions focused on advanced manufacturing, quality control, and logistics. Construction is slated to begin immediately, with a target completion date in the first quarter of 2026.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to serving the healthcare community with reliable, high-quality products,” said Sarah Mitchell, Vantive’s Vice President of Operations. “Mountain Home has been a vital part of our production network, and we’re excited to strengthen our footprint here while contributing to the local economy.”
The decision to expand in Mountain Home comes after a year-long evaluation of multiple sites across the Midwest and South. Company officials cited the region’s skilled workforce, proximity to transportation hubs, and strong support from local government as key factors. The Baxter County Economic Development Corporation played a central role in facilitating the project, offering tax incentives and workforce training grants.
Baxter County Judge Bob Stevenson praised the expansion, calling it “a vote of confidence in our community.” He noted that Vantive’s growth will have a ripple effect on local suppliers and service providers, potentially spurring additional commercial development in the area.
The new addition will be built on a 10-acre parcel adjacent to the existing facility, which currently employs 340 workers. The building will feature state-of-the-art cleanrooms, automated assembly lines, and expanded storage capacity. Vantive has also committed to implementing sustainable construction practices, including energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems, to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint.
Local residents have expressed optimism about the project. “More jobs mean more stability for families,” said John Carter, a longtime Mountain Home resident and owner of a nearby hardware store. “We’ve seen other companies come and go, but Vantive has been a steady employer. This expansion shows they’re here for the long haul.”
Industry analysts see the move as part of a broader trend in reshoring medical manufacturing. With supply chain disruptions during the pandemic, many U.S. healthcare companies are bringing production closer to home. Vantive’s expansion aligns with federal initiatives to strengthen domestic supply chains for critical medical supplies.
“This is exactly the kind of investment we need to ensure that life-saving products are made in America,” said Dr. Lisa Chen, a healthcare policy expert at the University of Arkansas. “It reduces dependency on foreign sources and creates high-quality jobs in the heartland.”
The construction phase is expected to generate about 150 temporary construction jobs, with local contractors set to bid on the project. Vantive has pledged to prioritize hiring from the Baxter County area for both construction and permanent roles.
The company plans to host a community open house later this year to update residents on the progress and to discuss hiring opportunities. Vantive will also partner with the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services to provide training programs for local candidates.
This expansion marks the second major investment by Vantive in the Mountain Home area in the past five years. In 2021, the company completed a $15 million upgrade to its existing production lines, which increased output by 20 percent.
As the ceremony concluded, city and county officials joined Vantive executives in a ceremonial shovel turn. The event was attended by approximately 100 employees, community leaders, and business partners. “Today is a great day for Mountain Home,” said Mayor Amy White. “We look forward to many more years of partnership with Vantive.”
With construction set to begin within weeks, the new addition is expected to be operational by early 2026, further cementing Vantive’s role as a cornerstone of the local economy.
