Paphos Butcher's Car Destroyed by Homemade Bomb – Second Attack in Three Months

A 56-year-old butcher in Paphos, Cyprus, was targeted for the second time in less than three months after a homemade explosive device detonated under his parked vehicle early Wednesday morning. The blast, which occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Santorini Street, caused extensive damage to his car and also damaged a second vehicle parked nearby, according to local police. No injuries were reported.

The attack comes just weeks after a similar incident on May 28, when unknown individuals placed an explosive device outside the butcher shop operated by the same man. That explosion heavily damaged the front of the business, though no one was hurt. Police have confirmed that both attacks involved low-powered improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and are now investigating whether they are connected.

Officers cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the scene, including fragments of the device.
