February 20, 2025 – Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra is racing toward an aggressive new-product cadence, with three new SUVs slated to hit showrooms sequentially through mid-2026. The lineup bridges rugged off-roaders, a compact lifestyle SUV, and a premium electric crossover, signaling Mahindra’s dual focus on internal combustion and pure-electric platforms.

Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift (September 22, 2025)

The iconic off-roader gets a mid-cycle refresh that aligns its look with the newer five-door Thar Roxx. Chief among the visual updates: a double-stacked front grille, C-shaped LED daytime running lamps, revised front and rear bumpers, and new alloy wheels. Inside, Mahindra replaces the old 7-inch infotainment unit with a crisp 10.25-inch HD touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin also gains a fully digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, and a redesigned steering wheel.

Under the hood, the powertrain lineup remains unchanged – a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel, a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo-petrol, and a 2.2-liter mHawk turbo-diesel. Buyers can choose a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic; both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations will be available. The Thar facelift is expected to retain its strong off-road credentials, with approach/breakover/departure angles similar to the current model. Official launch is confirmed for September 22, 2025.

Mahindra Vision S Lifestyle SUV (Early 2026)

Positioned as a sub-4-meter compact SUV, the Vision S will be the first production model riding on Mahindra’s all-new NU_IQ architecture. The platform is designed to support conventional petrol/diesel engines, hybrid setups, and full-electric powertrains, giving Mahindra flexibility for different markets. While the Vision S is rumored to be the smallest member of the Scorpio family, Mahindra has kept the official nameplate under wraps.

Design cues include pixel-type LED headlights, thick body cladding for a rugged look, an upright stance, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Inside, a dual-screen dashboard layout dominates the cabin, accompanied by a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and ventilated front seats. The Vision S will compete head-to-head with sub-4m rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Hyundai Venue in India, but its global ambitions could see it eventually challenge models like the Jeep Renegade or Ford Bronco Sport in other markets.

Mahindra has not yet disclosed powertrain details, but given the NU_IQ platform’s modular nature, expect a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol or similar engine options for volume variants, with a hybrid option arriving later.

Mahindra BE 07 Electric SUV (Mid-2026)

Slotting between the BE 6 Sporteq and the flagship XEV 9e, the BE 07 is Mahindra’s contender in the rapidly growing mid-size electric SUV segment. It will be built on Mahindra’s dedicated electric platform (INGLO) and will offer both rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants.

The cabin is dominated by a triple 12.3-inch display setup: one for infotainment, one for the co-driver’s entertainment, and one as a digital instrument cluster. A panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon Dolby Atmos audio system, and Level 2+ ADAS round out the premium features.

Battery options include three packs – 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh – with driving range estimated between 530 km (329 miles) and 650 km (404 miles) on the more generous WLTP cycle. The top variant will support up to 175 kW DC fast charging, adding roughly 200 km of range in 15 minutes. The BE 07 will take on the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7 in its home market, but its price and spec sheet make it a potential rival for the upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 AWD and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in global markets.

Industry Takeaway
Mahindra’s product blitz underscores its ambition to capture buyers across price points and fuel types. The Thar facelift keeps the brand’s off-road heritage alive while modernizing the cabin; the Vision S leverages a flexible platform to chase volume; and the BE 07 plants a flag in the premium electric space. For U.S. readers, while Mahindra currently sells only tractors and small commercial vehicles in North America, these new models could eventually test the waters here – particularly if the NU_IQ architecture can be adapted for American
