Lanzante, the British specialist known for transforming McLarens into road-legal track monsters, has officially confirmed a new optional high-downforce package for its 95-59 model. The announcement came earlier this week, silencing rumors that had circulated since the car’s debut. For owners seeking even more grip and stability at high speed, this package delivers a significant aerodynamic upgrade.
The 95-59, itself a heavily modified McLaren P1, already commands respect with its 903-horsepower hybrid powertrain and aggressive styling. Now, Lanzante offers a choice: keep the standard setup or bolt on the new high-downforce kit. The package includes a larger rear wing, revised front splitter, and repositioned dive planes, generating up to 40% more downforce than the standard car. According to Lanzante’s engineering team, the result is a noticeable improvement in cornering speed and high-speed stability, especially on circuits like Silverstone or the Nürburgring.
Beyond the aero, the package also features recalibrated suspension dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars to handle the increased downforce loads. Lanzante claims the 95-59 with the high-downforce package can lap a 1.5-mile circuit roughly two seconds faster than the standard version. The company has not yet released official lap times, but early test drivers report a more planted feel through fast sweepers and better braking confidence.
Production of the package is limited to the 95-59’s existing build run of just 15 units. Existing owners can retrofit the kit, while new customers can specify it at order. Pricing starts at £85,000 (approximately $108,000 USD) plus installation. Lanzante expects delivery within three months of order for existing cars.
In an exclusive interview, Lanzante’s head of engineering, James Turner, explained: “The 95-59 was always designed to be a dual-purpose machine – road usable but track-capable. This package tilts the balance firmly toward the track without sacrificing road manners entirely. The additional downforce transforms the car’s character, especially on high-speed circuits.”
The 95-59 with the high-downforce package is expected to be shown at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will tackle the famous hill climb. For now, interested buyers can contact Lanzante directly for ordering details.
