Kia has officially released the first range figures and full performance specifications for its three new electric GT models: the EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT. These models were first shown at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2025, and now the Korean automaker is detailing what buyers can expect from each variant.

All three models ride on the E-GMP platform and use dual electric motors with all-wheel drive. They also come with upgraded suspension, larger brakes, and a suite of software features aimed at making them genuinely fun to drive—not merely faster versions of the standard cars. While European availability is starting this spring, Kia has not yet confirmed U.S. pricing or launch dates. Industry insiders expect the EV3 GT and EV4 GT to arrive in North America in late 2025 or early 2026, with the EV5 GT potentially following in 2026.

Here’s a breakdown of each model.

Kia EV3 GT: Compact Performance Punch

The EV3 GT generates 292 hp and does 0–60 mph in 5.7 seconds (0–62 mph in European specs). That's a significant jump over the standard front-wheel-drive EV3, thanks to a second motor on the rear axle. While Kia has yet to give an official battery range for the EV3 GT, it has confirmed a host of standard equipment: electronically controlled suspension, electronic torque vectoring, launch control, and a dedicated GT driving mode.

It also features Kia’s “Virtual Gear Shift” system, which simulates the gear changes of a combustion-engined performance car, complete with artificial engine sounds playing through the speakers. Inside, the EV3 GT gets semi-bucket sports seats with suede and neon green accents, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a performance timer.

U.S. outlook: The EV3 GT is expected to compete with the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 N’s smaller sibling segment and the Mini Countryman Electric. Pricing may start around $42,000–$45,000.

Kia EV4 GT: Range Leader with Two Body Styles

The EV4 GT uses the same 292 hp dual-motor powertrain, but achieves a slightly quicker 0–60 mph time of 5.6 seconds. Buyers can choose between a hatchback and a fastback body style. Kia now confirms that the hatchback gets up to 314 miles (WLTP), while the more aerodynamic fastback extends that to 334 miles.

Both versions share the same chassis upgrades as the EV3 GT: electronically controlled suspension, torque vectoring, Virtual Gear Shift, artificial engine sounds, and a dedicated GT mode. The EV4’s lower, wider stance gives it a sportier feel.

U.S. outlook: The EV4 GT’s combination of range and performance makes it a potential rival for the Tesla Model 3 Performance and Hyundai Ioniq 6 N (if released). Expect pricing around $47,000–$50,000.

Kia EV5 GT: Most Powerful, But Also the Heaviest

The EV5 GT is the most powerful of the trio, with 306 hp. However, its larger size and extra weight mean it is the slowest, achieving 0–60 mph in 6.2 seconds. It uses an 81 kWh battery, giving it an official WLTP range of up to 296 miles.

The EV5 GT also gets electronically controlled suspension that uses a forward-facing camera to scan the road ahead and adjust dampers in real time. One quirky addition is “Pet Mode,” which keeps the cabin at a safe temperature when a pet is left inside. The system locks doors, disables certain controls and alarms, and shows a message on the infotainment screen explaining that the mode is active.

U.S. outlook: The EV5 GT will likely line up against the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and the Tesla Model Y Performance. Pricing could start at $55,000–$60,000.

More Than Just Extra Horsepower

Kia engineers developed the suspension for all three GT models on roads across Europe, including the UK. Upgrades include stiffer springs and revised anti-roll bars. Drivers can choose among Normal, Sport, and GT settings, which progressively increase damper firmness.

The electronic stability control offers three levels of intervention, while torque vectoring can distribute power to individual wheels to improve cornering. Virtual Gear Shift simulates individual gears and their accompanying acceleration curves, while the Active Sound Design system generates artificial performance car noises through the cabin speakers. Both features can be used alongside launch control and the dedicated GT driving mode.

What’s Next for U.S. Buyers

Kia has not yet announced pricing or a launch date for the EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT in the United States. However, given that the standard EV3 and EV4 are expected to arrive in the U.S. in 2025, the GT variants will likely follow within six to twelve months. Kia America has confirmed that the EV9 GT is on the way, and the smaller GT models should complete the brand’s electric performance lineup.

With the EV6 GT already on the market and the EV9 GT arriving later this year, the addition of the EV3, EV4, and EV5 GT gives Kia the most comprehensive electric GT range of any mainstream automaker. The combination of real-world range, genuine chassis upgrades, and clever software features makes these models more than just straight-line rockets.

Stay tuned for official U.S. specs, pricing, and on-sale dates as Kia rolls out more details in the coming months.
