July 16, 2025 – Two groundbreaking mods have emerged for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, pushing the envelope for violence and tactical gameplay. Modder “Teamhimes” has unleashed a full dismemberment system alongside a faithful recreation of Red Dead Redemption’s Dead Eye targeting. Both mods are available for download now, and a showcase video demonstrates their potential.

Full Dismemberment: Limbs, Heads, and Vehicle Gore

The first mod implements a comprehensive dismemberment system that lets players sever heads, arms, and legs with any weapon. Each wound is calculated based on the pedestrian’s actual skeleton, ensuring that stumps match body position realistically. Gore textures cover severed areas, and vehicles can also tear limbs off during collisions. Knives, machetes, and swords now have slice-through functionality.

However, the mod is not flawless. The most notable limitation: limbs and heads vanish instantly upon removal, rather than remaining as props on the ground. Furthermore, a single rifle round can completely sever a leg, which undermines realism. While entertaining, the system would benefit from persistent body parts and more weapon-specific damage thresholds.

Dead Eye System: Time Dilation and Multi-Target Marking

The second mod introduces Red Dead Redemption’s Dead Eye mechanic to Los Santos. When activated, time slows dramatically, allowing players to mark multiple enemies. After marking, your character automatically turns, aims, and fires at each target in a rapid, cinematic sequence. Headshots and limb hits are possible, and the mod pairs beautifully with the dismemberment system for extra brutality.

Complementary Mods Worth Trying

Beyond gore and targeting, several other mods enhance GTA 5 Enhanced’s visuals and gameplay:

  • RealityV, NaturalVision Enhanced, ChromatiX Enhanced – currently the top graphics overhaul mods for realistic lighting and textures.
  • Drive V Mod – overhauls vehicle physics, giving each car unique handling and weight. Drifting, braking, and acceleration feel distinct across all 40+ vehicles added by an accompanying addon pack.
  • NPC Combat Mod – shared in July 2025, this mod diversifies enemy behavior during fights, adding new attack patterns and reactions.
  • DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Gen Mod – enables DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation for RTX 50-series cards. However, it is locked behind a Patreon paywall. Neither NVIDIA nor Rockstar have announced official support for DLSS 4 MFG as of this writing.

How to Install and What to Expect

Both mods are simple to install via OpenIV. The dismemberment mod requires Script Hook V and a custom ASI loader. The Dead Eye mod runs as a Lua script within the game’s mod folder. A combined video below demonstrates both mods in action – the slow-motion marking followed by explosive dismemberment creates a truly visceral combat experience.

Performance and Stability Notes

Tested on a system with an RTX 4070 and 32 GB RAM, the dismemberment mod had minimal framerate impact except during large explosions. The Dead Eye mod may cause slight stutter when marking many targets simultaneously. As always, backup your game files before installing any mods.

Keep an eye on modding communities for updates – the creator hinted at adding persistent ragdoll body parts in a future version, which would address the current mod’s biggest flaw.
