ACMobility, a leading electric mobility infrastructure provider, has officially launched its “Drive Electric. EV Safety Program” across the United States. The five-module curriculum, which debuted on September 4, 2026, is designed to educate American drivers, fleet operators, and corporate decision-makers on the safe ownership, charging, and emergency handling of electrified vehicles. The program aims to address common misconceptions about EV fires and charging infrastructure, which surveys show remain top concerns for US consumers considering the switch.

Developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Electric Vehicle Association (EVA), and the American EV Community, the curriculum covers five core areas: ownership economics, best practices for EV charging, battery health management, emergency response protocols, and environmental impact. Each module blends technical accuracy with practical, everyday language to ensure accessibility for both new and experienced EV users.

“The biggest barrier to EV adoption isn’t range anxiety—it’s safety confidence,” said James Anderson, CEO of ACMobility North America, during the launch event at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. “Our goal is to give every American driver a clear, non-technical understanding of how to live with an EV safely and efficiently. This program is the first step toward building a nationwide culture of informed EV ownership.”

The program debuts at a time when EV registrations in the US have surpassed 10 million, yet a 2025 AAA survey indicated that 58% of non-EV owners still worry about fire risks. To address this, the curriculum includes simulation-based training on battery thermal runaway scenarios, correct charging cable handling, and what to do if an EV is involved in a collision. Practical exercises will be offered in partnership with local fire departments.

ACMobility plans to roll out the safety seminars across the country in phases, starting with major metropolitan areas like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Houston. By early 2027, the company expects to reach corporate campuses, ride-hailing fleets, and public charging stations. Participants who complete the program will receive a digital certificate recognized by the DOE’s Vehicle Technologies Office.

In addition to the in-person seminars, a free online version of the program is slated for release in November 2026, featuring interactive modules, Q&A sessions with EV technicians, and downloadable checklists. The online platform will also host a community forum where users can share real-world experiences and ask questions—a move that ACMobility believes will help crowdsource best practices.

Industry experts see the program as a timely response to a fragmented landscape. “While manufacturers provide owner’s manuals, there’s no standardized education for EV safety across the entire ecosystem,” said Dr. Emily Kwan, a transportation researcher at the University of California, Davis. “ACMobility’s partnership with the DOE and NFPA brings federal credibility and fire-safety rigor that many local programs lack. This could become a national template.”

The program’s expansion to corporations and fleet operators includes tailored modules for workplace charging installations, emergency shutdown procedures, and driver training protocols. Several Fortune 500 companies, including logistics firms and delivery services, have already expressed interest in piloting the curriculum for their EV fleets.

ACMobility also announced that hands-on activities will be added to future sessions, including supervised test-drive opportunities with certified EV instructors. These sessions will allow participants to practice safe charging, learn how to read dashboard warnings, and simulate emergency responses in a controlled environment.

“We are not just selling chargers; we are building trust,” Anderson added. “The ‘Drive Electric. EV Safety Program’ is our commitment to ensuring that every American who chooses an EV feels empowered, not anxious. With the right knowledge, electric mobility is safer, cheaper, and cleaner—and we want to be the ones to teach that.”

The program is open to the public by registration, with priority given to early adopters, community organizations, and local government agencies. ACMobility is also exploring partnerships with high schools and vocational colleges to integrate EV safety into automotive technician curricula.
