Windsor, Ontario — A car crashed into a pharmacy on Tecumseh Road East on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, damaging the building and prompting an investigation by Windsor police.
Windsor Police Service officers were called just before 1 p.m. to the 1100 block of Tecumseh Road E. after getting reports of a vehicle hitting the storefront. The vehicle was later towed from the scene, and cleanup crews worked Wednesday afternoon to clear debris.
Const. Bianca Jackson, a police spokesperson, said several people were inside the pharmacy when the crash happened. “No injuries have been reported,” she said.
Police have not provided details about the driver or the vehicle. Investigators have not said why the car left the roadway and struck the building. Officers remained at the scene for several hours as the cause of the collision was reviewed.
As of Sunday, April 26, 2026, no further update had been issued. No charges have been announced, and it is unclear whether the pharmacy will require significant repairs before reopening.
The incident is a reminder of how easily storefronts in busy commercial areas can be hit by out-of-control vehicles. Tecumseh Road E. is a heavily traveled corridor, and many businesses sit close to the street with little space between the curb and the building.
Anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Windsor Police. The investigation is ongoing.
