BOTHELL, Wash. — Authorities have disrupted a major drug trafficking operation in Bothell, seizing a cache of narcotics, eight firearms, and nearly $150,000 in cash during a recent raid. The Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a home in the 20700 block of Southeast 207th Place on Aug. 19, 2024, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The target of the investigation, a 42-year-old man whose name has not been publicly released pending formal charges, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. Detectives allege the residence served as a hub for distributing multiple controlled substances.
Inside the home, investigators uncovered approximately $67,000 in cash, along with significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, Xanax, and methadone. The drug paraphernalia recovered included digital scales, packaging materials, and a currency counter — items commonly used in drug trafficking operations.
The firepower seized was substantial: eight firearms of various types were confiscated, though the sheriff’s office did not specify whether they were handguns, rifles, or shotguns. Multiple vehicles were also impounded as part of the investigation.
Following the initial search, detectives obtained additional warrants based on intelligence gathered at the scene. Those subsequent searches turned up another $80,000 in cash believed to be linked to the same drug trafficking network. Combined with the cash found during the first warrant, the total seizure exceeds $147,000 — a figure that law enforcement officials say underscores the scale of the operation.
The Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force is a multi-agency unit composed of detectives and officers from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the Bothell Police Department, the Everett Police Department, the Marysville Police Department, the Washington State Patrol, and the state Department of Corrections. The team is specifically funded and trained to interrupt drug trafficking at the local level.
Court records filed in the weeks following the raid indicate that the suspect has been charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking and possession of stolen property, though the case is still making its way through the Snohomish County Superior Court. As of early April 2025, the investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to trace the origins of the narcotics and cash.
Local law enforcement officials have noted that fentanyl continues to be a driver of overdose deaths in Snohomish County. According to the latest data from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, fentanyl was involved in more than 70% of all drug overdose deaths in the county in 2024. The seizure of both fentanyl and methamphetamine in this case highlights the ongoing challenge of synthetic drug distribution in the region.
“This is a significant disruption to the drug supply chain in our community,” said a spokesperson for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. “Guns and cash are the tools of this trade, and taking them off the street saves lives.”
The suspect, who is being held in the Snohomish County Jail on a $500,000 bail, is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing later this spring. His attorney has not yet filed a response to the charges.
Community members in the Bothell neighborhood where the search took place expressed relief but also concern about the proximity of the operation to residential areas. The home is located in a quiet suburban subdivision, with schools and parks within a mile.
The task force has not disclosed whether any other suspects are being sought or whether the investigation has ties to larger drug trafficking organizations operating in the Pacific Northwest. However, law enforcement officials say the case is part of a broader effort to target mid-level and high-level drug distributors in Snohomish County.
This report has been updated as of April 5, 2025, to reflect the current status of the court case and ongoing investigation.
